Effect on value when changing to euro spec

I agree with what so many have said. If it's not pristine, it won't be top of the market for a collector. Make the car what you want. Too many people get fixated on the current value or future collectability of the cars.... I trust you bought it cos you wanted a 308.... Make it how you want it.

 

It would only take two relays and some wire to rig them up as on all the time and blink off so you could still use them as a flash warning.

 

I have a 1979 308 GTS and the front and rear bumpers are split open and starting to rust. I want to replace both front and rear with the Euro spec hardware (since I need to replace them anyway). What should I expect to spend and where should I go to get the parts? I can do the work myself I'm just new to the Ferrari market (haven't had this car too long).

 

The Contach's unfortunate US bumpers should be exempted from this conversation!!

You should know that because of the mounting, you can buy the lighter fiberglass replicas of a US bumper, or buy the boat load of support parts you would need to mount a Euro system on a North American car!

 

If you think buying a Ferrari is difficult, wait until you try to sell one!

We are just cautioning as values climb, to avoid breating a Frankestein of a car.

Look at all the fright pig 'glass cars, that disappeared only to resurface "brand new"!
But spending that kind of money, it's important to have experts.

It's a different game from blowing $30K on a used exotic car....it adds a zero!
