Neat little cars eh Mark? I've always admired the shape/styling, pleased to have found one with LOTS of work and attention complete, and with the sage marque advice offered, I can surely make it an even better runner. From the front (4 headlights/grill) reminds me of a Mangusta for a brief moment anyway :)

Stay well, happy thanksgiving to you and yours.

I got my bumpers from Doug alder many many years ago when he was building out of his garage. He was the first one to make them to retrofit them for the scorps over this side of the pond . I recall him saying the Mitsubishi turn lamps fit the bumpers. With the internet these days, just spend a weekend to get the real Carillo/altissimo ones shipped over from Europe ?

Great little underrated cars, all they need is a bit more power and brakes. a quicker steering rack would be nice too which they use to offer back in the 90's in the UK (not montehospital).
I still some parts here in there, set of HD sport Koni struts (needs repair) which haven't been avalible in decades. Lada in the UK used to offer race struts too.

Really nice article. I stop into fantasy junction regularly over the past 40 or so years, even before when they were on Dwight Way in Berserkly. I have always known of Bruce's special infatuation with the Lancia marque. thanks for sharing that...

He always had his B24 spider vintage racer in view (pretty sure that's what it was?...maroon/burgandy?) I always thought they looked like bloated Alfa Guilietta Spider's :D

Agreed, the potential here is great. The shape is just a winner, no question, very cool looker. I imagine it more powerful for sure, I will get it there over time.

Hope you don't mind me sneaking a Zagato Spyder into this thread. I bought one about 6 months ago to have something to take to my all-Italian Car Show (Automezzi Colorado) here in Denver. THESE ARE ALL REALLY COOL AND FUN CARS.

This used to be Brian White's car (BJWHITE on FCHAT)

I will be selling this one soon to make room for my 1960 MB 190SL coming out of full restoration... Maybe MikeTuason will add a Zagato to his collection!

Sorry for not replying, we are in the middle of another good snowstorm, one right after the other and I put the car away and haven't brought it out or even visited it...I will check asap and reply with the carb info. as soon as we thaw out again.

There aren't that many nice ones out there, that looks to be done correctly, although I am sure resident experts can critique? Credit Cnpapa (Chris P) with discovering the listing and sharing with me.

I adore these things. Absolutely love them. If I had the space I would buy this for sure. Pure 1970's Pinna perfection.

$25k may be 'all the money', but what are the alternatives for something this cool?

I bought it from John- Blasted the grey powder coating off the wheels and swapped out the MAf which was keeping the car down on power- Euro bumpers back on- Absolute RIOT to drive and sounds great!

Honestly more fun to drive than my minty '72 2002tii.

Niiiiice! You're making me want one that much more. I think that one is still for sale in NOLA. Can maybe negotiate a good price now.

Have been doing lots of mods to the one I still have. Third time I resto-modded it to another level. Video release when weather permits a warm weekend to shoot it.

Yeah they are surprisingly fun cars. I would find the very best one you can possibly find and don't settle for a car with any needs- these are so cheap now that the difference between a lousy car and a great car is only a grand or so.

Even a tiny amount of rust would be a deal breaker for me.

For me if I were someone stuck with de-tuned US modelnot mechanically inclined who liked to tinker, I'd suggest finding one that someone already rebuilt the engine w/ high compression pistons, proper cams minus the emissions. Maybe some Konis and if Scorpion, revised brakes.

Can't wait to get my latest creation on scale. Bet its 500 lbs lighter than stock. Maybe had a lighter one with many fiberglass panels years ago but current one is still favorite. And latest diet is much from sprung weight (aluminum pulleys, removing lobe from axillary shaft, aluminum wheel spacers, ....) or also improve cooling (aluminum radiator) or just made it easier to keep working on (wheel stud conversion).

This is mine, the Montecarlo 1980 not the castle :). Original Italy (completely rust free), now in Belgium. Never restored, but once repainted in original color. Have had it for +/- 10 years to my complete satisfaction. When I bought it it wasn't very promising. When I picked it up it broke down..........right across from a cemetery. Fortunately it was only a battery connection that was not properly attached. After only 100 km a valve turned out to be burnt. Since the cylinder head had to be removed, I had to overhaul everything that was necessary and since then no problems in 10 years. yes, new battery and occasionally cleaning up ground cable connections, that's all. Funny, I also have a Ferrari 328 GTS.......wife prefers the Montecarlo Image Unavailable, Please Login View attachment 3769492 View attachment 3769492 View attachment 3769492
