    I know production has slowly increased over the years but what is general ballpark estimate of all street only cars Ferrari has made since they began in 1947?

    I don't need a breakdown of all models, just curious of total production within a few thousand or so estimate. So '47 -today.

    Well production Ferraris only used odd numbers until serial number 75000 and seeing as how we're currently in the serial number 217,000-219,000 range. Plus of of course the Dino production you could figure about 180,000-190,000 production cars.

    So this is the best I can come up with - I don't pretend to pass myself off as an expert - just some amateur sleuthing on my part....so if somebody roasts me, I deserve it.

    Based on Sheehan's 2008 Letter, there was about 130,000 made up to that point.

    Fiat and FCA published annual sales Ferrari cars since 08' so starting with Sheehan's #

    1947 - 2008 = ~130,000
    and Fiat's/FCAs Numbers since then
    2009 = 6,250
    2010 = 6,461
    2011 = 7,000
    2012 = 7,318
    2013 = 6,922
    2014 = 7,255
    2015 = 7,664
    2016 = 8,000?
    ----------------
    So I would expect around 186K by year end...

    Interestingly enough - backtracking based on Wikipedia Numbers

    from 1997 - 2007 we had about 45K built

    so 1947 - 1996 = 85K Total

    no data for 88-96 - but say 3,000 annual during that period - guesstimate 27K during that period so

    1947 - 1987 - 58K

    finally from 1977 to 1987 we had 29,080

    so in 'guesstimation'

    1947 - 1976 = 29K
    1977 - 1987 = 54K
    1988 - 1996 = 85K
    1997 - 2008 = 130K
    2009 - 2016 = 186K

    Hope this helps and again, this is just back of napkin shooting from the hip cowboy math (did I miss any tropes?)

    Hope it helps

    186,000 cars seems like a lot for a brand that bills itself as exclusive. I wonder how that compares to Rolls Royce or Rolex.

    OTOH, Toyota made 8,736,500 vehicles in 2012 alone, and GM put out 9,924,880 in 2015, so by those standards it's a really small number.

    So BMW sold 2.6x the total number of Ferrari road cars from '47-'15 just with their 3 series. That's crazy to process.

    It's rumored that Rolex makes close to a million watches a year. It's just a myth that they're low production and hand made watches. For the most part they're machine made but obviously hand assembled. Rolex is more like Mercedes so not a fair comparison. Patek Philippe on the other hand, that can be compared to Ferrari or Rolls Royce.

    Well, Ferrari cannot be compared to Rolls-Royce because with the different period in time, Rolls-Royce production output changed a lot, but not so progressively as Ferrari: production has been multiplied by eight these last ten years under the "new ownership" of BMW, from about 500 in 2007 to slightly more than 4000 today. Bentley, owned by Volkswagen, is selling "about 7000 cars per year" nowadays.
    Some among the purists did not even considered Rolls-Royce as a true "manufacturer" for decades, because as you know they made and assembled engines and chassis, but the bodies were done by different "carrossiers": such as Park Ward, Mulliner, etc...

    Rolls-Royce announced in 1985 to have produced their 100.000th car since the production began in 1904, but it is not clear to me if this included Bentley also, that they bought in 1931. Rolls-Royce production figures by models are very difficult to interpret, notably because it was customary for owners to have some of the older models updated, or even fully converted into a newer one.

    Wow-- great breakdown. Thanks for posting! May I ask how you came by these numbers?

    If they're accurate Paul's "napkin math" was very, very close indeed. Nice work, Paul!

    So based on the list in the previous post it comes up to 184,814 cars since inception of the company in 1948.

    there would also be several cars under Auto Avio Construzioni... maybe 3-4 cars...if you add in racing cars - maybe the total is another 1000 cars? 333, & challenge series cars?

    could really only be maybe 175 -200 F-1 cars ever made including Pre war Scuderia Ferrari Alfa's...

    couple of hundred sports prototypes racers... question would be do you count GTO's as production cars or racing cars?

    The figure is correct.

    Former Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo ordered a cap of 7000 units for 2013 to keep the brand exclusive.

    2013 Annual production:-

    Q1 - 1862
    Q2 - 1975
    Q3 - 1499
    Q4 - 1664
    Total: 7000

    I'm not challenging you but I've just found this figure: the Fiat annual report quotes Ferrari at 6922 sales in 2013

    http://www.fcagroup.com/en-US/investor_relations/financial_reports/FiatDocuments/Bilanci/2013/2013_annual_report.pdf?redirectFromFiatspa=1

    Ferrari
    Consistent with the 2013 announcement that production would be maintained below the prior year’s level to preserve brand exclusivity, Ferrari
    managed shipments to the network down to 6,922 street cars (-5% vs. 2012), including the first 20 units of the special edition LaFerrari.

    Furthermore Google suggests the 7000 cap was proposed by Montezemolo in May 2013 (ie during the year not after it) eg

    The OP's thread title reads:-

    "Total Number Of Ferraris produced?", NOT sold.

    7000 units produced at the Factory. 6923 units registered Worldwide during 2013.
