Jeez that's near perfect isn't it? Looks very well maintained at a quick glance, too. Not sure exactly how EU import charges are from CH but looks like 8 to 12%. Which makes this 550 great value IMO.

    I checked:
    - pay vat (21% for Holland)
    - Pay car import duty (10%)
    - Pay transport 1000-1500 euro
    - Pay import check and registration fee 500-1000 euro

So please add 31% plus 2-3k- makes the total cost around 170k euro.

Not so interesting after all :(

It's been a while since the last post about sourcing cars from Switzerland into the EU and not all EU member states handle it the same way. Often it is just the VAT to be paid with nothing else but it is country-specific. The other thing to bear in mind is if, by chance, the Swiss car is being sold by a Swiss VAT registered company (not common, but always worth checking), the vendor can deduct Swiss VAT from his asking price (8%) and export it and he will still receive the same net proceeds...

P.S. This 550 looks great on 575M 18" wheels and the listing indicates that it has spacers fitted. I would be seriously tempted to subject my car a colour change to Blue Nart!

    Nice!

I understand you only pay VAT (20%) plus transport/local testing/conversion costs from Switzerland to UK.

However with the pound currently suffering, that still makes it expensive. Switzerland seems to have caught up with Euro pricing...the days of a sub-1000 mile gated manual 575 on sale for just 90,000 pounds (less than 150k greenbacks) are well over, though that was just last year.

    Jesus.

The couple of links I found mentioned the 8-12% thing but I just scanned over it, it was dated 2012 though.

So, 550's back to at new prices then. Hope they won't rise much more :(.

Switzerland is not EU, therefore you will always have to pay VAT.
VAT varies slightly per country (19-21%), so 8 or 12% will never be the case.
Our great leaders in the nation of holland are a bunch of w*nkers as they always are the most expensive for no reason by adding an extra duty to be paid for cars which is around 10%.

10% duty is no laughing matter but there are worse countries within the EU such as Portugal and then there are others such as Norway and in the far east etc. that are even worse..

P.S. this wasn't supposed to be a thread about values or import costs but more about the joy of seeing a Blu Nart Maranello. Schwing! :)

Last time I looked, it was 20% VAT and 6% special duty tax here in France.
    The car is really beautiful...
