Looks like fun.
This event FAR EXCEEDED any expectations anyone could have had. We had just under a hundred cars. Thank you to everyone that made it a success!! Boardwalk Ferrari and Steve Fordham took it over the top!! Thank you!!
Well it looks like the first event was a big success. Thank you to everyone that came out. I was impressed when I looked over and saw cars doors and hoods open. Everyone respected the cars and just took pictures. So my question is it possible to have more cars? FYI, we MIGHT have something VERY special showing up in May. Keep those fingers crossed. We will see everyone out on April 16th. Luckily this show is right down the runway from Keels and Wheels.
Yes sir. We had talked at the show about opening it up. The common vote was "NO". Unfortunately, that is what ruined Cars and Coffee.
So there's no way to open up any sort of "pre-approved" guest list for spectators? I realize that would be an additional bit of work (and, admittedly, some risk) for you all, but I also think there is value added to a show when you have a certain amount of spectators that are mindful and respectful.
I am not opening that can of worms. There are two ways to get in right now. 1. Get a car 2. Ride with someone that has a car. Who knows what the future holds. For right now this how everyone wants it.
I admire what you are doing here....wish someone in Houston would start one of these. The open shows are just so stressful, the touching, the leaning on the car for photos, the idiots that line the curbs when leaving that curse if you don't rev it
I have no say as a spectator myself, but to their credit, it's only been 1 show (IIRC). In my opinion, maybe give it a few more months to blossom, attract new owners, & allow everyone to enjoy it for themselves? Maybe then, the question can be revisited when everyone is comfortable and believe it can effectively policed having spectators. Until then, no fault in understanding it is the only way to keep unwanted guests out. /2cents
