and I couldn't be more excited to get it. White on white, yellow calipers and shields, carbon fiber Daytona racing seats, etc. plans for her as soon as she arrives are: - ECU tune - Exhaust - Wheels (which I plan to order this week), - Suspension The shop I use (that will be tuning it and making the exhaust) work closely with JRZ and are working on a collaboration to come up with a lowering spring kit that retains the front lift. I had JRZ's on my TT Gallardo and they were fantastic, I'm expecting the same level of quality from them on the488. Below are a few of the pictures my dealer sent me. It's supposedly on the boat now, so it shouldn't be much longer. I will update this thread as I get updates. Looks fantastic. Congratulations! Interesting that you plan on tuning her. No concerns on warranty???
Life's too short to be concerned with things like warranties. In all seriousness though, it can always be flashed back to the factory file. thank you, and I absolutely will.
my Gallardo has a white interior, if you prep it right it isn't that bad to clean at all like some people may think. My buddy Sal Zaino has an incredible line of detailing products I use exclusively with terrific results.
Sweet, Looks like mine except I went black interior. Mine left Italy End of Feb, first week of March so I'm probably 2-4 weeks away.
Awesome, although I'm convinced that the "body in white" photo they send us is all the same car....I've looked at it, and the background is totally identical, even the dirt spot pattern on the floor matches mine....but ...who cares! Congrats!!
Funny you say that.. I was just thinking the exact same thing. Every owner I see on instagram has the IDENTICAL picture I got, same positioning and everything.
Congratulations! Looks real nice, looking forward to seeing some more pics once you've got it. Any plans for modifications? Exhaust, wheels, etc?
all of the above. Ordering the wheels this week, the shop I have do all my cars are incredible tuners and are going to tune it as soon as it arrives, they're looking into making me an exhaust, from what I have read here, the factory exhaust leaves a lot to be desired. congrats! Any plans for it? post some pictures when you do, so I can live vicariously through you for the next few weeks haha
Post some before dyno run results(hot car of course). Would be great to see how it performs compared to what the factory claim.
I plan to dyno stock, then dyno tuned, put the stock tune back on and dyno with with exhaust, and do all the same with the v-box as well as 1/4 mile times stock and tuned. My shops tuner comes with me to the track and can swap files for me on the fly. ::edit:: the shop has a 4wd mustang dyno that they refer to as the "heartbreaker". Apparently they read notoriously low compared to the other dyno's out there. The shops tuner is incredible at what he does, and tuning is their main focus (which is why they said they got the Mustang over a dynojet or other dyno). The tuner explained the reason Mustangs are the best option for tuning, and I would love to explain it here but almost all of it went over my head haha. They tuned my 458, turbo lambo, m5, SL63, etc. and always have some insane cars in the shop (I stopped by the other day and there were two CTS-V's they were wrapping up that run 9's and still have full interiors, AC, etc. a 993 turbo-s (which is one of my dream cars) they're rebuilding the turbos on, a turbo Huracan they are tuning, and a few AMG 63 cars they are developing a turbo upgrade for (I cant wait to throw them on my SL haha) etc.
Yes the Mustang dynos are great dynos - they don't read low, they are just accurate. They will usually drag people back down on earth when they make ridiculous claims A well calibrated Mustang going by the SAE J1349 standard is the way to go. As long as one runs power pulls with a heat soaked engine and do a few pulls from which they calculate the average, then you have what I consider real world numbers
Love the spec! Our car is basically the same spec but we have Rosso Scuderia Calipers So tuning goes - keep us posted. We will be doing a pre/post dyno on our car with the Novitec N-Tronic, as well as with the N-Tronic with Exhaust/HFC etc etc etc.
First of all, the Aventador is a rung above the 488. Secondly, Ferrari has invested heavily in aluminium and say that carbon tubs have repairability issues for series production cars. In other words, they are very expensive to fix when they get crashed.
WOO! The car finally arrived at my dealer, and I couldn't be happier. I am so happy I went with the white interior, I was a little nervous but am now totally satisfied. The interior is SICK. I am totally in love. and for those wondering the price, options, etc.
