I have actually found a couple of early F430's that might be in my price range. Although they have higher mileage (between 20 and 30K) I plan on driving the car quite a bit so this does not bother me. I have read and read and read some more on 360's, but there seems to be much less info out there on the F430. I was hoping to ask a few questions ad maybe if possible someone can PM me their number to discuss over the phone. I know to get a PPI done, but if buying from a dealer would you get it done by another dealer? The clutch readings are between 20 and 30% (usage, so 70 to 80 left) and the brakes are showing 60 to 70% left. I have asked if either of them have all the goodies, manuals, VIP book, fobs etc... and am waiting to hear back. I have also inquired about the headers. What else should I be asking? I know the anual service costs, but I read something about a major due at 30 or 32,500, what is that? I downloaded the whole manual, but apparently the service intervals are in a different book :-( I appreciate any assistance from you guys, I have spent 6 to 8 hrs a day on here reading for the last month+, hoping I am getting close :)

Get PPI from Indy ...dealers talk . If PPI is good and record are there then worth buying. Heading could have been replaced under warranty any dealer would have that info. To be safe with headers modify brackets or get aftermarket

He said they have inspected the car and it is good to go, read off the brake life and the clutch life for me, but will not allow an outside PPI. Said I am more than welcome to come inspect and test drive.

Will not allow an outside PPI? Unless there is some serious miscommunication going on here, run. Don't walk. Run!

I would never buy a car without a PPI unless the dealer is throwing in a 1 yr full warranty. Some service managers will only perform PPI for good customers because it is not worth the liability if you missed something. Not to allow you to take it to another place for one sounds like they are hiding something

I bought from Ferrari of Denver. No PPI, but they included a 1 year Factory Power Warranty so I was comfortable with that. Also that is was a one owner car bought from that dealer and only serviced by that dealer. All records accounted for.

No surprises there. I have never heard anything but great reviews for FoD, so a one owner car that spent it's whole life there? Sure. I would take them at their word on it. And the one year warranty just helps. Congratulations on a great buy.

You are spot on. It was my first Ferrari purchase and it was the best car buying experience I have ever had. Utmost in professionalism. Treated me like I was buying my 10th Ferrari. Even after purchase, I still keep in touch with my salesman and he's been upstanding in every respect. I can't say enough about FoD.

If you buy from an independent dealer then definitely get a PPI, if from a Ferrari dealer I would have them do a full inspection and then provide you a complete report and ideally negotiate some type of warranty.

Have bought a few cars out of state, never saw them in person, paid about 400 for a PPI, and the results I got were spot on. Some were clean, no issues, some needed work that the dealer or seller had corrected before sale. One car bought without a PPI because it " looked good "'was a disaster purchase.
