I also replaced the broken passenger side jet, by removing a good one from the old drivers side broken wiper. So I know have a fully fuctioning car which I will never drive in the rain !

Having put it all back together I have another item for the list. Looks like the carpet has a small strip of leather (?) attached which wraps and possibly is glued over the lip where the rubber goes. Well in my case the stip is all ripped up and looks a mess.

Don't think that's leather...just black gaffa type tape.

355 has the same...pretty poor detailing for such an expensive car....the front boot on these cars has poor fit and finishing.

So...i'm a little behind on my posting.

I rebuilt my drivers door along the sames lines as my passenger door. Once nearly together I tested the window. I was expected similar results to my passenger door, however what I got was VERY slow.

I then took it all apart, but removed this. Tested it again - very fast

so it turns out that despite gluing the rubber all nicely, the rubber was still stopping the window from going up and down. So I took a knife to the rubber and chopped out several bits. Once back together with the rubber trimed down a bit, it was significantly faster !

as I was putting the door back together, I got to install my new window bezel. This one is metal but exactly the same as the plastic one. Here are the two side by side

this turned out to be more difficult than it looked. on the back of the bezel, there are little tabs which are supposed to clip to the back of the fiberglass door panel. However the doorpanel is covered in leather - lots of it. So, supposedly the tabs are going to clear all the leather, and latch on.

I couldn't get it in. Just fell out every time. I even put small notches in the leather to allow the tabs to go through, but even then it still wouldn't hold

When installing the colored part of the door. (Gray in my case). What is the trick to lining up the holes to get the stupid clips in. You have to slightly tilt this piece cause it sorta fits under the piece above and therefore you can't visually line up the holes.

Then you push hard, and another one breaks....

Must have gone through ten of these.

Eventually I did it, but pretty sure that only two, possibly three out of the four are actually in the hole.

Next job was to repair my front turn signal. I got some bulb holders from Amazon. Good news is they fitted perfectly which was a surprise cause I thought I would have to hack them up and try and repair the old one.

Bad news is they didn't actually work. One of them wouldn't hold the bulb in as the spring wouldn't compress far enough and the other the bulb didn't light when I rigged it up to my tester.

So I ordered a whole selection from Amazon....

Try only tightening the 2 screws that lock it in place once the window is in the fully up position.

Takes a bit of trial and error but you can normally find a happy compromise whereby the speed isnt affected.

Thanks Jeff. I'll give that a go. It seems pretty good at the mo but still slows slightly when the glass runs through the rubber. Jason

This batch (except for one super flimsy one) all had four "ears" on the holder rather than two. So using a knife I cut off two of the ears.

One of my reversing lights was out so decided to replace with LEDs. The PO had put the wrong watt bulb in and of course melted the light assembly. I ordered bulbs from Amazon. These are the red ones for the brake / tail lights
