Hi all, Is this normal for headrests? Never seen this before This is for 86 GTS for sale in Montreal Regards Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not factory. You can tell the seats have been redone without even seeing the headrests anyway. The leather blocks don't have that sharp crisp edge.
Exactly; plus the sewing along the side bolster is nowhere as sharp and neat as the factory one, the panel next to the side bolster near the driver's door has a very poor junction with the said side bolster under the headrest on the driver's seat, making a kind of "spike", etc, etc... (By the way: there was no "serie speciale" of any sort for the 328, and except for a special order that I would not be aware of, there is only a single seat design as for the leather panels: easy, no?) [However, there is a variation in the seat back inclination mechanism/levers during production] Rgds
Well that would be a bit harsh...because it could well be that he actually has paid an extra amount above the factory headrests costs for that "special order"... Rgds
In that case, the shield on the passenger seat should be much smaller, as it is a well known fact that the passenger always feels her(his) side of the car going at least 33% faster than it is... Rgds
Absolutely; and neither does it account for good: indeed, as my old grandmother used to say, "you also need to have things of "bad taste" that are very expensive, because you have people who like to spend a lot of money and have bad taste..." The only thing that I had in mind is that it would have been better to order straight factory replacement hides...and it would have come cheaper in the end. Rgds
You can tell they are redone as the seats look "pillowy," if you will. Too comfortable. I spent a ton of money getting my reup done to accurately reproduce the originals and it is very hard to tell originals from my new ones. The headrests, forget it. I did something vaguely similar but stitched medium-smallish sized metallic Brown thread horseys into the crème colored headrests. Not original, but I think it looks very nice.
True: the factory "finish" of the leather surface is quite taut. But even the shape of the bolsters is not right here, so you see it at first sight. Rgds
Looking at it again the spacing of the chrome headrest struts looks too far apart too. Anyone else think that?
