If not you may want to upgrade your system and kill two birds with one stone .

 

I saw one being replaced by a professional installer in Atlanta, Georgia. It certainly looks like a job for a professional. When the dash of a 458 needs to come out, it's not for a weekend DIY warrior. Look at the bright side...you get to upgrade at the same time! The JBL Professional setup is not as good as it should be for a $300K Ferrari. But argument could be made that who cares about the stereo in a Ferrari; I do, when the engine is off!

 

Sorry, coralreefer for not answering your question, but chiming in on the issue about upgrading your system, and picking up on the comments by PhilNotHill, I agree that you should seriously consider upgrading to the JBL system instead of simply replacing the speaker. Whilst tobewiser says that the JBL system is not as good as it should be, I must say that I find the quality of the music from mine to be excellent. Perhaps I've been deafened by the stunning sound of the engine, but I listen to my music regularly and am really pleased that I chose the sound system upgrade.

 

There are more capable automotive sound systems than the one Ferrari has chosen for the 458. The JBL upgraded product is fine but certainly not be fitting to the Ferrari brand. Sound quality inside a car depends much more than just the hardware - acoustic calibration being one among them. Ferraris are 'noisy' by design. I personally think it is a waste of money to put a super audio system in a 458 as the engine gives out such a high 'noise' threshold. A stereo in a ferrari, no matter how good it is, often seems to be a driving distraction to me. The quirky audio user interface in the 458 doesn't help either!
