I'm looking into this option because I love the feeling of sitting a bit lower. Does anyone have experience with this? I currently have the manual Daytona seats right now, the 599 seats are electric. The carbon seats for the F430 seem to be impossible to find, as well as scuderia seats. Is the F430 already wired for this, or will I need to put in new wiring? Also does anyone know if the 599 seats sit lower than the Daytona seats? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Someone put 458 racing seats in their 430 recently. It looked great. They sit lower than standard seats. Maybe search for that thread.
458 sport seats are identical to scuderia seats, just so that you know I bought some medium carbon F430 sport seats for my 550 but ended up putting them in my 360 instead. I looked at getting 599 GTO carbon seats for my 550 but the electrical connection is very different. Even the seats alone have ECUs and there is supposed to be some upgraded electrical connection for it to work smoothly. Mai Hai, since you're a dealer, is this for one of the cars you're selling now?
I finally found a set of large F430 racing seats, they sit much lower than normal Daytonas, which was exactly what I was looking for. I put in the 458/scud seats and love them. Perfect drop for me over Daytonas and I am 6'2". When doing a pile of research before purchasing those, I was looking at 599 seats but read a couple places that they fit better but have almost no drop at all. Was never able to confirm in person so maybe someone out there can. Good luck. Seats can transform a car if successful or they can leave you crying all the way to the poor house!
Don't want to hijack thread but since there many in the know on seats in this thread: Is there a drop going from 360 daytonas to 458 daytonas? And do 458 daytonas fit the 360 similarly to the 458 racing/scud seats?
Mine is 360. Bolt into factory secondary holes for factory cf seats with new bolts. Only mod required was to remove seatbelt receptacles from 360 seats and bolt to 458 seats. DS required wiring (2 wires) to keep seatbelt light off. Really easy stuff. Maybe 2 wrenches out of 4 for overall difficulty. Didn't measure drop but like they say, you sit in them instead of on them. I now fit comfortably so the top of my head probably dropped at least two inches. Note that the 458 seats come in different sizes like the factory cf seats. Happy hunting!
I am 6'1" there was at least a 2 or 3 " drop in seating position, plus now I have another 4" easily to move seat back further, before they were right up against firewall. Yep Ferrari thought ahead for seats, there are 2 sets of holes, one for the Daytonas, smaller threads for the CF seats, should be just straight bolt on, in case yours do not come with supplied bolts any local Bolt supply house will have the right threaded bolts for your seats and seat belt.
