    Hi friends,
I have been a long time reader of this awesome forum, and i would like to post a pic of my car and say hello to you all. I have retrieved so much info from you all, and for that I say thank you, especially to all the PM's I have sent over the years....
A brief history of my 84 QV Euro version, original Australian delivery.
She has been in our family for just over 25 years now, the last 5 years in storage as my father was ill with cancer. My beautiful dad passed away over a year ago, and still the QV sat in storage, until 4 months ago. The work then begun...
I had the suspension done, 4 new 16" Superformance rims and 4 new Dunlop Direzzas, work on the engine included timing belts, oils/filters, new water pump and belts, new engine mounts, did the head gaskets and seals, new thermostat, brake pads were fine but had the fluids flushed, reconditioned the starter motor (all parts from Eurospares UK). I have also installed 2 new side mirrors from Walker Sport in the UK.
    And now for some pics:

Welcome to the forum as a Ferrari owner - it's really good that your car has a personal, special connection. It looks fantastic, and the Euro-spec 308 QV is really the best of all the 3x8 versions (my unbiased opinion, of course).

It sounds like you have attended to all the maintenance items needed on our 30+ year old cars, so I hope you can have many miles of trouble-free enjoyment with it.

    Cheers,
    Gordon

    Hi Roberto,
Welcome to the group and thank you for sharing your touching history. I came in here the very same way. There's no way I can sell her. I've learned more about cars here than anywhere else. Great mods! I hope it helps keep that very special connection to your dad, every time you sit in that seat. Smile as he did. And don't go too light on that right pedal!!!

    Cheers,
    Spencer

Welcome Roberto! The heritage would be carried down the family line :)

Enjoy the car and my unbiased opinion concur that the Euro QV is the best looking of all the 308 variants :D

Car is looking great Roberto,I too have a similar story with my dad as he passed 8 years ago and left me his 67 Mustang Fastback that hasn't been driven in 7 years now..
It's been in my family for 40 years.Mum would take us to school in it,such fond memories of that car..
I do intend on restoring it one day.

Look forward to catching up soon..

Great to see you working with a lovely car mate! From a fellow Aussie living on the other side of the world it's great to see you carrying on what your Dad started. I hope my boys will do the same one day. I think I have injected enough petrol into their veins from a young age. My deepest condolances on the loss of your father, though I am sure he would be very proud today.

    Hi Roberto,
I also have a 308 QV and one of the best upgrades was to change over the fuses to the Birdman ones glass ones, Not sure if you have done this yet but I would suggest it.
Also for a cleaner look across the front i replaced my clear and amber front light/indicator lense with just clear lenses, and replaced the indicator bulb with one that flashes yellow i think from memory they were called phantom globes as they are clear as well so that the yellow does not show through the front of the lense.
    Enjoy

    Hi sean,
nice to meet you. I was thinking of the Birdman fuse box, seems like it is a hit here on the forum with other owners. Is it difficult to change over to this? I am a little mechanically inclined but not very competent when it comes to electrical.
Any advice? Did you change it yourself?

Very easy to change it over, I changed the fuse panel myself and i have never done any elecrical stiff on a car. Only took 30 minutes. There are a few good threads on here that show how to do it. Plus you should notice that things like windows and lights should work a bit better as well.
Birdman has the glass type fuses but might be worth seeing if anyone has done the new blade types, i recall someone on here has done these, but the Birman ones were a straight swap so very easy. From memory i simply took out all the wires from the top of the fuse blocks then numbers them, then did the same for the bottom row, but check with one of the detailed threads about it to be sure.
Any questions just sing out, happy to help.
