The great thing about Maranello is you can tell if they have it in stock on their web page (Eurospares too). When I checked the other day for you they showed "limited stock" which means they have at least one on hand. I sure wish the US web sites had that feature.

Finally in the paint booth. Doors, hood fenders inner paint and black detail completed. Remounted and set. Perfect gaps. Awesome. Will be posting additional progress photos soon.

The TR has been out of paint for a couple weeks now. I'll post photos once were cut and reassembled. It's amazing how many small pieces there were to sand, paint, wet sand, Polish and reassemble. Sent hubs out for re chrome and wheels being restored as a bit of curb rash existed on the right rear rim.

Well I was planning to hold off until the Testarossa was completely assembled but love these photos of where we are today. Surprise! It's Giallo. I had to do it. It's always been my favorite color on the early Testarossas. Wheels are out being restored and center hubs and surrounds out being rechromed. Buffing in process as well as reassembly. I'm very pleased. Body is flawless. I'll be posting more photos soon.

Thanks Joe. I knew you'd be surprised. Pictures really don't do it justice.
The wheels showed up today. I'm very pleased as they look terrific. The silver I choose is a bit softer which I thought worked better with the yellow. Can also see the sheen by the reflection of the valve stem in the photo. Tires mounted. Should get the chrome centers/hubs in next week and get the TR back on the ground. Had the metal guy who does custom fab for me make a guard plate to mount under the front spoiler. Power window mechanics in? Interior pieces all in and should be installed next week. Hopefully on the road in a couple weeks.

If you don't mind me asking what was the paint color used on the wheels. I like the look and I will be starting the refurbishment of some wheels.
    Thanks Mark

Those wheels do look awesome but as the OP mentioned, the paint was slightly modified. The actual paint code is PPG 36520.

I received my wheels back last night after clear coating. IMO, the clear coat really ****s it up so consider it carefully before you decide to apply it. I'm starting to think the original wheels were not clear coated despite the spare wheel getting a coating (note the high gloss on the original spare wheel)

The clear coat is everything on a wheel. I actually sent two of the wheels back because I had an issue with the clear coat thickness. This is typically an issue because the application being too aggressive to get a shine (or they have the wrong sheen / I stay in the 40-60% range) Even the best guys don't always get it correct. Also the clear coat highlights the direction of the metallic. A few years ago I had a set of wheels resprayed 3 times before they got it spot on. Same guys that painted these.

I hear ya Vince but if we're talking about a restoration as close as possible to original finish, then I would question whether a clear coat was ever applied. The spare definitely had one which is why the PPG expert agreed but he never got to see my other wheels. I really don't know the answer. Just a hunch.

Sam, I'm by no means an expert but I have looked at a lot of TRs over the years and they all appear to have a clear coat, I don't think you could achieve the level of gloss with just a base coat. I bought a used original set of TR wheels for my car to replace the 512TR wheels installed and they do not appear to be re-sprays and definitely have a clear coat.

I also have some photos at home of a ~250 mile original car I photographed a few years ago, I'll post some photos later tonight--as I recall they had a bit of Dinol overspray on the outside so you'd know it was the original paint (mine had quite a bit of Dinol still on the inside). BTW I think your wheels turned out great and the decals look spot-on!
