    OK I'm cut and bleeding and generally pissed off. I have never had such trouble getting the extenders and wires on the front bank. Anyone have a great tip or is it hit and miss.

    Not much in your profile. If you have a gts then taking off the top and working from the passenger seat over the rear might give you easier access.

    Access from the side and behind the lid. Put extender on wire and push on as one piece. I am 6-2 with long arms so that helps. Not really much in the way this way: dip stick, throttle cable, fuel line. Did you replace plugs and forget to remove the little aluminum piece on top? New extenders? The little clips can bind when new.

    Bingo........like a dumb ass I left the screw on cap in place on one plug....of course on the front bank. After an hour of cussing I finally got out my lipstick camera and shoved it down the hole to take a look.........Christ!!!!!

    LOL! Once I drained the oil (74 Blazer in high school) and forgot to replace the drain plug before filing. Let's make this a thread of Bozo maneuvers. Go on, admit your sins.

    That's nothing......I was changing the oil in an old Toyota pickup I had several years ago. After filling with oil I get in and start the truck. I start getting worried after a few seconds as the oil light is not going off.
    I look in my hand and I'm holding the drain plug.
    I drove that truck for another five years!!!!!

    I have climbed into the boot (trunk) a few times for tasks such as changing injectors. Got used to this from working on Lotus Esprits where the only way to change the timing belt and many other tasks is by doing this.

    Andy, I changed the water pump belt on an Esprit S1 for a friend, so I know what you mean about lying in the trunk (or boot) to work! Fortunately, the S1 had a wrap around trunk that allowed me to position myself at the front of the engine!

    It took me 1 1/2 hrs just yesterday to change a headlight bulb on my 3 series bimmer dd. It didn't help that I couldn't feel my fingers because apparently it's going to be cold here all summer

    I don't have one but I have seen it in use and the mechanic who used it said it saved his back as compared to most of his peers who don't have one. web search "topside creeper" or "over engine creeper" and am sure you can find something similar.
