I'm just wondering if anyone out there has had Dealings with an outfit called Cat's Exotics up in Washington State? Wondering what your experience was like.

I recommend posting in the Northwest section. They're also forum sponsors. I haven't bought a car from them, but they are great people to talk to. Roy is a true car guy even though he prefers Lambos.

Thank you. I was posting it here as they sell cars across the country and I had the misfortune of purchasing one from them and dealing with Roy. He may be a true car guy, but that's about as far as I would go with praise for him. I'm just trying to see if this was a one time thing or if this is habitual for that particular dealer, as they do seem to have some decent cars and as you know, when looking for a car you often find it in far away places.

I didn't buy a car but I took a long look at one they had in inventory and I liked their approach. Sorry if you had problems.

Is your problem with the car itself or their handling of the transaction? More details would help.

Hopefully you didn't try to buy a car with 27 different credit cards!

(That was one of his customers many years ago, wasn't it?)

He's a sponsor here, or was for some time.

I know Roy, helped him with a situation in Houston, once.

    What's your issue?
It should be in Lambo Section, anyway......

You're asking about an F-Chat sponsor dealer who not only has his own subforum on this site, but also his own customer "testimonial" sticky thread:

    Cats Exotics - FerrariChat.com

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/cats-exotics/259683-testimonial-thread-%2Anew%2A.html

If you're looking for honest and detailed information about personal experiences with this dealer, including any experiences which may be have been less than positive, then I suggest you 1) post this in the LamborghiniChat forum (link below) and 2) be open to receiving responses via private message in addition to those posted publicly.

Here's the more appropriate forum: LamborghiniChat.com - Sponsored by Cats Exotics - FerrariChat.com

Nice guy always willing to help. To me it does not really matter what the counter party is like, just do your DD and pay what it's worth. This is true with Ferrari's or anything you buy in life. I bought a great house from a total A hole for a fair price and happy I did.

Just checked out the Cat's thread and the testimonial, thread. Had no idea they were a sponsor. So, it seems pointless to say anything even slightly negative about them. So much for objectivity.

This is an open-minded group and, I think, we could all benefit from personal knowledge that is presented openly without bias....eg. facts only....which may be difficult if you feel "slighted" going in. Give it a try, most all of us here have had some less than stellar "dealer dealings". Additionally, Roy has a car currently that I have more than a passing interest in and I would like to hear of your experience.

    Ditto.

Even googling cat's exotics should give you information that has already been answered.

"cat's exotics recommended" - should give you some good info too.
Want to know about bad reviews? Look for something like "dealer problems" or "dealer misrepresented" or "dealer scam" should be better than posting up a vague rant.

Did you buy or sell a car brokered by Cats or one in their inventory? There can be issues with brokered cars that aren't known upfront, I have had some in the past..Ive had good dealings with Roy, and every situation is different...

Okay, here you go. I bought a car off their lot. It came with a "75 point inspection". When it arrived, my wife drove it home and almost got killed in it due to the fact that the entiring steering linkage was complete junk and she didn't know a car shouldn't feel like that when you drive it. When I confronted them, they told me it was a USED car.

BTW - When I actually do rant, it's never vague. Ask my 200 employees. And, although I do in fact live for providing you all with drama and a big fat target at which to aim your snappy, yet demoralizing commentary, I was simply trying to find out if mine was an unusual experience, or if this is how these folks do business on a regular basis.

Okay, that should give you a good start. Let the drama commence.

Sounds like a serious, legitimate & dangerous issue......why do you feel like a 'target' from the board? This is not simply personalities clashing, imo.

I wasn't being snippy. Some people really don't think about how to google for good and bad reviews.

Now, I'll be snippy: I don't have your 200 employee's emails or phone numbers. Can you send them over or do I need to obtain them myself to ask each and everyone of the evidence of your ranting?

What was wrong with the steering exactly? As in, which part of the steering mechanism failed or broke? I agree suddenly losing the steering in a vehicle is a BAD thing, and should not be expected to happen. Did the vehicle have an accident history?

Received your PM. You misread my post. To clarify, I suggested you:

    1. post in the forum where actual customers of Roy would see your thread; and
    2. be open to receiving responses via private message (because any customers who have had negative experiences might prefer not to post publicly and face potential backlash from the fanboys).

I (wrongly) anticipated that the links to the sponsor subforum and "testimonial" thread would put things into perspective for you as far as #2 above was concerned.

interesting that his defense is how poorly he treats his 200 employees.

That wasn't snippy at all. I appreciate the need for proof of a statement like that. I'm afraid you'll need to obtain them yourself. It shoudn't be too hard.

Are you mentally ill? Did you seriously read that and think that THAT was my defense to anything? Come on now. Let's not lose the plot here. If you're going to pile on, at least come in with something that makes a tiny bit on sense.

    well you said...

perhaps you were trying to impress us with how many employees you have? but it sure sounds like you rant to them frequently.

    anyway, back on track.

what car is in question. what specifically broke. was a PPI done by an outside expert. if so, was this flaw not found? if so, was Cats Exotics supposed to correct it?

a lot more needs to be known here before we all dog pile Cats Exotics, or Roy himself. you haven't helped your case by not supplying facts, then being rude and condescending to the people you're seeking help from.
