72-182 mph in about 12.5 seconds. Basically right in line w what owners have told me is that car will do 0-186 in about 16.5-17 seconds. So doesn't prove Ferraris ridiculous "under 15 second too 300 kph" claim but still it's ludicrously fast. No car needs to be any faster, ever, kind of fast.

Plus the fact the speedo climbs so rapidly showing each kph is great. Porsche should have fitted one on the 918 instead of a speedo that climbs in chunks.

Drove the 918 and La Ferrari back to back today, lots of fun , both crasy fast, actually very different feels, one felt small änd very dynamic ( more so thän ever imagined) the other bigger and plusher. My choice, the Ferrari , but just by a smudge.

Thanks for your interest, short details, driving was on mixed roads, typical Sw Florida island, some backroads and a few twisties,no real high speed for a long period, but lots of accl up to 100+ anyway, likes in the Ferrari ,fit my frame perfect, love the fixed seat, and the adjustable pedals( spring, oaded with a little lever wich you pull and push the pedal assy forward), also getting inn and out of car superior to 918 being most of the doosill opens up as part of the door, once you are inn,the car shrinks around you, kinda like the perfect ski jacket, driving position and funktilns sorked very well for me,did not like the tall centreconsoll in the 918,both cars are fantastic, but to me the Ferrari felt more dynamic, almost cosy, driving was easy and almost every day like , automatic mode worked great but perhaps one function the Porsche did better, anyway explosiveower amazing brakes, the next level up from supercar as i know them, every limit in both cars Faar above my driving skills,'Perhaps why ,to me the 275 gtb 66 wich i also got to drive, would be the pefect stabelmate to my Countach

Street legal and faster than Lmp1/F1?
Are these guys sure, that Ron Dennis isn't involved also in this project?

Very pompous statements indeed. Its really hard to imagine a road legal car lapping Silverstone as fast or even quicker (!) than a F1...

I mean, really... nevermind all else... what kind of tyres will be able to bring that performance? Always keeping in mind this is a car that supposedly will be road legal...

I've read that the Porsche 919 LMP1 car does 0-180mph is something like 9 seconds and also has downforce to generate more than 4G's of lateral load.
Now those numbers may be hyperbole or plain incorrect but if they're not, there is no road car today nor will there be one for, I predict, another 25 years that will come anywhere near those two benchmarks.... Especially four lateral G...

You'll never get a road car like that because you need professional experience to drive them effectively. The average person would just spin out or crash. F1 cars, and most likely lmp cars as well, need very high speed to actually perform as designed. The aero is not design for low speeds.

919; an awesome piece of kit.

That's 1.9 seconds quicker than Koenigsegg claim for 0-186.4mph in the Regera which is geared for 250 mph.

Let's see what Mr Newey, RB and Aston have up their sleeve.

Crazy times in both senses of the word.

The F40 would be a handful, the F1 would crash and the 959 would eat everybody's lunch.

I just watched Richard Hammond take an F1 car two laps around Silverstone. Look it up on YouTube. You simply CANNOT replicate F1 for the road. It's not safe and it wouldn't be enjoyable. F1 drivers are world class athletes with amazing reaction times. If they created a car with F1 style acceleration and downforce that means they have to be driven at crazy speeds to keep heat in the tires and for the downforce to work. Real roads have speed limits. I don't even see the appeal of an F1 style road car. Does a rich 70 year old man really want to experience 4-5 g's of cornering force? He may think he does but he doesn't.

A one:1 just ran 240 mph at vmax. Got to the speed in about 30 seconds despite jumping all over that horrible surface (that I can't believe they run on). Pretty damn impressive.
