    +1 to all.

I really don't understand why CNC aren't the 'bad guys' here.

And note I put 'bad guys' in quotes; seems they had the PPI too, so presumably the OP had access to it.

And who buys a 20+ year old car without test driving it first? (Actually, any car really)

I guess the only good news is Roy's reputation is (further) enhanced.

It's sure been an 'entertaining' train wreck of a thread though..... ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

I've read all of this thread (who doesn't like a good train wreck?) and the thing I can't get past is that the OP got upset with Roy's dealership and went AROUND him by dragging in CNC to make the purchase. Then he flames Roy for selling a car with (disclosed) issues.

    Absolutely epic ******baggery.

The threat to destroy Roy on social media is what really sticks in my craw. That is the "go to" for A-holes these days. I recently had a Dr. customer of mine tell me he would bad mouth my company on social media if I enforced the last 54 months of a 60 month contract because in his words "well of course I signed it but I didn't read it." This was over a $1500 buy out.

My hypothesis is CNC was local to him so squeezing them was not doable as local blowback would result. They also were just a facilitator to him like a local gun dealer taking delivery of an out of town purchase and not responsible for the product. So if he was going to squeeze someone for money it was going to be Cats.

I also think he did not imagine Cats posting details of his phone conversations. I think that really caught him exposed and caused him to turn tail and run. My experience with branded companies like DW is they look dimly on their employees name dropping the firm in presonal matters. I also wonder what the odds are he does not have 200 employees? When his identity got blown he shrank like costanza in the pool and asked to have his account removed. Something tells me he wants this all just to go away.

It's the new goto threat for customers but they learn fast it allows companies to fight back better than ever. Lesson learned for all.

My question is "what in the hell is Roy doing selling a Gremlin". The guys deals with some of the best cars and for some reason has this crazy thing for sale. I thought that was the funniest thing.
I have bought from Roy and had Roy sell cars for me. No issues here. Maybe a good ford pinto is next!!

I would love a business that sells $3000 cars to idiots for $23000. Got to have the baller starter set.

The OP is such a dousche. He starts a post asking if any one had a bad experience with Cats. Virtually right away many post that their experience has been excellent. So he gets his answer virtually immediately but than still carried on. Him making Cats be in any way responsible is simple extortion as the car was not bought from them. His financing the POS car says a lot about this joker. His excepting the $1000 from Roy to fix an as-is car with disclosure about the steering should be a war crime. What a complete **ck **cker. If he was so concerned about his wife he would of drove the 40 year old **it box knowing it has a steering problem prior to having his wife drive it if he really cares about her safety. How can people be so petty?

Is there anyone here who would pay $22K for a Gremlin in any kind of shape??????
Not too many years ago that was 250 GTE territory.

I for one am very satisfied with Roy. Here is the Gremlin he sold me. It was a little more expensive because Roy said this one was built by Ford!

    Louisiana Racing Green ;)

Interesting, I've heard of the Gremlin made by GMC, but never knew it was made by Ford as well.

Edit: probably becuase it's Ford Pinto. ;)

Good luck when it comes time to sell: we all have heard tales about how hard it is to sell a green Gremlin, err, Pinto, err, Grem-to.

Looks like you failed reading comprehension. Where in this initial post, as you described, did he ask anyone if they had a negative experience?

I purchased a 1968 Jag E type from Roy 4 years ago. Great transaction, car was shipped promptly and I highly recommend him. They are first rate in my book!
