Les Edgar is a proper car enthusiast, instrumental in funding Aston Martins return to the racetrack and a regular visitor to Le Mans 24 hour. We met him at the Classic British Welcome event where he was just mingling around the parked cars. He's also properly engaged with the TVR Car Club including a 50% reduction in the deposit for the new car for members. The new car has all the right people involved and it sounds very promising, no false promises and only releasing information when details are confirmed. Beautiful car, always loved the Tuscans and the Sagaris. Is the Tuscan the one where the hood doesn't open for the engine? You have to remove it or something?
Mine was one of the rare full convertible Tuscans (105 made) rather than the usual Targa roof Tuscan and the only one painted bright orange from new. Those pictures were taken when I sold the car after 62,000 wonderful miles and it still looked mint. They really got the quality right on the later one, even that 380bhp 4.0 litre TVR speed 6 engines proved to be 100% reliable. Loved it. and yes, the bonnet is bolted down with just the small 'service bonnet' opening up for access to all oil, water, power steering and screen-wash fillers. Neat idea and helped keep the weight down to 1,050 kg's.
Wow I didn't realize they were that light! That's an insane amount of power for that weight. TVR used to be one of my favorite brands growing up as a teenager in the early 2000s. Let's hope they bring something to the US too!
Same for me, I had and crashed a beautiful 1994 Griffith 500 in starmist blue, replaced with 1997 starmist grey Chimaera which was sold to buy the Tuscan. I've still got a 1976 3000M in bits waiting to be built up including a brand new chassis which has been strapped to the ceiling in the garage for the last couple of years.... The next project?
