46 I work construction. I'm very far from wealthy. I financed my car. Not a single regret. Value has gone up. I care but not really. I love cars. I love my 308. So do my friends. We usually (LOL!) enjoy working on it and learning about it. It sits way too much but when I get behind the wheel, pure therapy. Life is short. Act accordingly.
You just proved ( or is it "prooved"??) again that wealth is not measured by the amount that's in your bank account Rob ! I know a guy, worth appr. 8 million (in euro) that has almost zero contact with his two sons (not exactly their fault..) , making him one of the poorest people on the planet..
15 Yes! I'm divorced. My daughter absolutely loves cruising in the Ferrari. She likes the attention we get when we cruise. She thinks is hilarious. She's 15. Ultimately she likes the ride. As I do. Whether it's back roads or where we get "seen". Mom just acquired a convertible mustang. I asked about it. Do you like it? No. Why? It's boring. It's a regular car. Your car is loud. It smells. I love the smell. Her words! Eh, maybe I'll let the spoiled brat behind the wheel.
Can't remember how young I was when I first saw my first Ferrari, but in high school, I would cruise by the local Ferrari Dealership in Los Gatos, CA.... Starting dreaming...... Tried to buy a 1972 246GTS for $36K when I was mid twenties, but went to college instead.... Got a mess of other sports cars to hold me over..... even thought about dropping a 246 motor in a 240z...... Had a chance to buy a '79 308 when I was married in my 40's, didn't happen, glad it didn't, would of lost it...... Got my 328 on my 48th birthday...... Wasn't thinking of a 328, now I am glad I did...... my other two fiats make up for the 246 i didn't get........ no not really..... but I would be nervous driving that dino today like I drive my other cars......
A life long friend of mine bought one when he was 20, a Blue 77 GTB, and brought it down from Alberta to Monterey. I got to drive it with him for a couple of weeks and was hooked. Got my first ticket in it on PCH outside of Santa Barbara. I had to wait until I was 50 to get mine. The was six years ago. I don't expect to part with it anytime soon.
