Prugna #81569 is still offer by Copley since several months. And today at price $ 160.000 Nothing new .............but I check ebay this morning and saw this picture of the front of this car ...!!! I don't understand ! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I agree. A 1989 328 GTB in Prugna is appealing to me (I love the color), but this car looks like it's done 150,000 hard track miles. And if you look closely at the pictures, the driver door is a different shade than the rest of the car. I'm puzzled by the pricing.
Agree! That front lip looks like it has plowed a lot of gravel. For 160 big ones, I'm surprised they didn't at least replace that part.
I was in the area several months ago so I stopped in and saw it. It was parked against a wall, so I couldn't see the passenger side. However, it definitely presents far better in photos than in person. There are several very noticeable cosmetic issues that you couldn't seen in the stock dealership photos (the ebay photos show more of the exterior flaws). I think Prugna is a great color, but the cosmetics on this car leave a lot to be desired in light of the price. Copley has a great reputation, so I am sure if someone were an interested buyer from a distance, they would send far more detailed photos of the cosmetic issues so they buyer would know exactly what they are getting.

A little late to post....March 12 Amelia Island. I didn't see it mentioned in the March posts 1988 Ferrari 328 GTS | Amelia Island 2016 | RM Sotheby's -Multiple Platinum Award and Ferrari Preservation Cup winner at the 2015 Cavallino Classic -Just over 13,000 original miles from new -Accompanied by a full set of books, tools, and rare 328 fitted luggage -Ferrari Classiche certified
Looks like the above 19,766 328GTS has had a price adjustment. Its now listed for $139,990. Their 45,000 mile 86 GTS is still listed for $95,000. Also, I noticed the roughly 20,000 mile red/tan 1989 328GTB came down off Copley Motor's website. As of the other day it was still listed for sale. Although, I don't see it listed on their past sales section yet.
https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/SC0516-239562/0/1986-Ferrari-328-GTS/5-Speed/ $66,000 with buyer premium This seems pretty cheap to me? Is there something wrong with this one? Or is it just Mecum, they seem to get pretty low numbers for 308's...
Hmm, that's an interesting car. Assuming(which may not always be the case) that the car isn't hiding much(like bad paint, hidden/needed repairs, etc.), this could just reflect a more realistic market. Market appeared(to me) to top out last year, with not as many sales recently, more price adjustments(mainly down), which implies a softened market. Going into the prime selling season now, so will be interesting to see what, if anything, actually changes hands and for how $much$. I'd think garage queens will hold high values the most, but all of the other stuff may not. On this board, many like to nitpick -other- people's cars, talk up the values a lot. I prefer to see real sales data.
I would imagine with the mileage shown and good condition that there may be more to the story on this particular car. The sale price seems quite low for a car with average, low mileage.
On the low mileage issue, note the words "believed to be" before the 29,000 cited and "believed to be" before 3 owners. Not exactly assuring.

I'va already read several times in advertisements: "Red Cartier leather intérior" according to my knowledge it is not an period correct option. Anybody can confirm ?
I know that Cartier did make some "Ferrari branded" wrist watches back in the mid 1980s and they were often sold by car accessory stores, they were not sold at Cartier boutiques. However that is the only Ferrari Cartier connection I am aware of. I've never heard of Ferrari using Cartier leather in their cars. The only designer material I had ever seen was several years ago a book, and I wish I had it but I don't, showed a 308 with optional cloth seats and the fabric was said to be from Zegna. It actually looked like the cloth used for headliner in 308/328s.
This. Exactly. There never was any use of any product from Cartier on a Ferrari car during the eighties (except perhaps a unique order, but I am not aware of this..."never say never" when speaking Ferraris...), but as a line of Cartier-branded accessories were sold in car accessory stores, some people make an "association of brands" in their mind and, by "langage abuse" ("abus de langage", Bertrand) spoke about Cartier leather for the "Pelle Rosso" of the eighties Ferrari, which is NOT CORRECT, and simply not true. And yes, their was a cloth option for the 1981-1984 seats, essentially for the 208 Turbos, with the central panels in cloth (those panels with the "herringbone pattern") and the bolsters in leather. Rgds
its wrong nevertheless! the red color for the seats of Ferrari at this time was simply called "Pelle Rosso" officially. Rgds
