It's the ONR that smells like a cheerleader. SmartOne smells like mangos. I've never tried it, but it smells like it'd make a heckuva rum drink. :)

Check out the video: SmartOne - Waterless Car Wash, Wax & Sealant in One - 16 oz (473 ml)

It's amazing stuff as long as you use the right microfiber to remove it.

I may be in the minority's but plastic over the engine is less about delicacy and more about not wanting to detail the motor every time I clean the exterior (read: lazy). Agree these do just fine soaking wet and don't be afraid.

A water washed F355 will drop at least 10K in value !!!

I also make sure that my Ferrari dealer never washes my car with water.

Yeah, Dave. I have over 72,000 miles on the 550. I'd have to pay a hauler to tow it away!

I usually put 1 layer of shower curtain, followed by a layer of heavy duty garbage bags. After I'm finished washing I switch into fresh panties and sing my 355 a lullaby while it dries.

Question for those of you covering your motor with a shower curtain before a wet wash.

After the wash, how do you remove the now dripping wet curtain without spilling the water, suds and dirt onto the motor ?

Or is the purpose of the curtain to direct the flow of the water off to the sides of the motor?

I tape the sides of the shower curtain to the drip panels of the engine bay with painters tape before washing. When I am done I roll the curtain towards the rear of the car. Most of the water drains over the muffler shield.

Do I understand correctly? You pull into the car wash, open rear boot and spray down the whole engine/everything with the power washer? While it is still hot?Hmmmmmm

In my case, I wash the car with a bucket and sponge and periodically also wash the engine compartment the same way.....rinse and start the car and while idling shami dry the exterior.

Correct. I pushed it out of the garage and power washed the engine. The let it air dry (mostly) stated it up and pulled it back into the garage.

Frankly I don't understand these goofy threads about meaningless nonsense. But somehow I'm drawn to them and comment. :)

I wash mine after the engine cools for about half hour. It is still quite warm and If the engine is dirty I pressure wash at this time.

Then i close the engine bonnet and let it sit while I wipe it down, then I lift bonnet wipe down easy to reach areas, start car let it come up to temp, take for a relatively short 15 min drive and put away.

Then I sit in garage, stare at car, and feel very, very lucky I own one. Its the kind of car I never get tired of looking at.

FWIW - not much. I do cover my engine, but don't stress over getting water on it. As we all should know, the engine compartment will take it.

Also FWIW I love my Master Blaster, but it is an expensive helper, at about $400. It blows so hard that the air gets pretty hot to help drying. I won't say it cuts the time in half, but it does shorten it somewhat, and the crevasses don't weep.

Quickest way to review is go to Amazon and search "Master Blaster Dryer" (link is real long). I have had mine for over five years and really like it, nothing else comes close. One warning, it has two 4hp motors that operate independently and I have had a regular 15 amp outlet trip the breaker when hitting the second start switch. I had a dedicated 20 amp outlet put into my former home in the garage and that took care of it (I need to do this again because I had to reset the breaker two times just the other day using it). Nothing gets the water out from behind lights, emblems, moldings etc. like this machine. I always would get ticked when I drove off in a just washed and dried car to have the dirty water blow out from behind a mirror etc. and streak the new wash job. No more with this. Bonus, it is made right here in the good old USA by a company that started with mfg. what else, vacuum cleaners, yea.
