I fell like a total dunce but I cannot for the life figure out how you are supposed to run the battery conditioner on the 458 out the passenger door without pinching the cable. The manual says to run it under the passenger door on the front side, but I can't get the cable to slide to the front side because the door is pinching it.
Any photos or even a video would be even better if someone could post one.

    Thanks

I run it through the window open, and draped a cloth to protect inside and outside contact points.

Haven't figured out the door either.

i also run it through the window. I wanted to see the area under the door to make sure there was a "channel." Didn't see it and didn't want to leave it up to chance that its soft enough not to damage the wire. I figure i can see the wire going out the window so i wouldn't take off with the wire attached! ( under the door is another story)...

I use a long cloth to drape over the entire external door and window; all contact is with the cloth. Thank goodness they made it external in the T and models after.

I run mine exactly where you show in your picture. It doesn't hurt anything :)

The battery tender unit sits on the floor outside the door and the smaller cable is run over the door sill and door is closed. The rubber seal of the door indents but not the cable

You are almost there. Meaning, if you slide the cable forward until it is at leading edge of door, then close door, you can slide the cable forward the last 1" or so. It will now be in the "groove" where front fender and door meet. The cord will be "loose" as not compressed by door in this position. You are correct, if you close door and leave wire 3-4" from door edge it is at some level trapped/pinched". To disconnect the wire, gently slide the wire back an inch or so, then open door and you are good to go. If I don't slide wire back, sometimes it hangs up in the door/fender groove.
I prefer not to have window open. Want to try and keep that wonderful Ferrari smell forever!

    Lol. Me too.
I used to do it with the window open but didn't want to lose the smell so I've been trying to find this groove you're talking about. Now I just close it on the cord.
