Congrats, Rob. Both the car and the drums look great. And now you're a rock star again! Livin' the dream.
Freinds, I have an old Dino badge may attach it to the front cymbal stand. At the factory they had a set that they made for Nick Mason with logos painted on them. Actually most drums are wrapped with a plastic sheet. Mine were supposed to be just plain oak, but I wanted the red so they put a very thin layer of maple on the outside so the paint would be solid! The plain oak looked great but I wanted something special. The less on the drum shell the better, but I even had a set with chrome on it over the wood! Thanks for all your comments! Freinds, Sorry I have not posted more, but it has been crazy! Just got my plates and drove the car for 10 minutes! The car is fast!!!!! This has been the craziest time of my life. Al told me this but not sure I processed it until I looked. 1975 GT4 had for over 20 years 10766 assembly # 410 1974 GT4 had for only 2 weeks 09212 assembly # 409 What are the odds of that!!!!! Seems like fate????? More to come! Rob Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looking forward to seeing some more pictures and maybe some in-car video? Mine is 09054 and #400, so just before yours. Paul
I was down in Oxnard / Ventura the other day on business. I didn't have time or I would have loved to stop by and see the shrine and your fraternal twins. It looks like I might need to come down again in the next few months.
A visit to Rob's Shrine and meeting Rob and Rose was a highlight of a trip to the States a few years back for Helen and me! And, of course, the Shrine has been since been enhanced with the reunion of the fraternal twins. Should be on all bucket lists, I say! Cheers, Grahame
Since I dont get out much but, Grahames and his beautiful wife's visit was very welcome and a good time was had by all! I will retire in December to spend more time on the cars and the band!
A guy born in my small place is an automobile paint artist and is doing a lot of Ferrari painting. His name is Alain Levesque, he was once at a Ferrari show and spoke with Nick Mason and in the conversation he mentionned his name and Mason told him '' I have a painting from you'' Small world sometimes!
Friends, Sorry I have been so delinquent in this thread. Had a few small problems and Al shipped the car back to Florida to fix them. He has been fantastic and I am pretty bummed none of the major magazines have done an expose on the Paris show car....or his shop. Probably too busy under evaluating the GT4! The band has been busy headlining a bunch of major shows last year and I will update you all on whats going on both with "Cirith Ungol" and the two Dino's! When I get back probably start taking the cars apart! HA Having two is harder than I thought, seeing how I do all the maintenance etc. Plus we had the worst fire in CA history in my home town. My sister and 6 buddies in my local car club houses burned down including more than 500 within a mile of my house.... This site has grown very big. I miss the smaller/older version. I know its better for Rob, but so many sections I got lost just looking around! Hope to hear from you all soon, and really hope there are a few tech guys left, as I forgot most of what I learned in the last 25 years!!!! Sincerely, Rob Here is the picture of the crowd right before I went on stage "Keep it True Festival" Germany. Image Unavailable, Please Login
