    The chassis# is the last 5 (or 6) in the vin. The number on the drivers side that electrogunner is referring to is the assembly number.

    I've kept mine on (even though I shipped the car to Germany) as I see them more like luggage stickers on an old steamer trunk. Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder (more applicable to women, but thought to add anyway)...

    Back to the topic at hand, I note that the car is parked in front of Norwoods. Best place to have it maintained... Bob and James took very good care of my '84 308 GTS for over 20 years.
