You forgot how often Michael's car broke down. In fact, in the last year in the races they both finished, he earned more points than Nico. He still had it....it's almost a pity they brought Lewis in. He and/or Nico would have won the WDC without Lewis' help....and maybe Michael wouldn't have been off skiing.
Typical...now you are going to the extreme that there is no passing after 1st lap. I said a new opportunity might not present itself at a track like Spain. You are suggesting to ignore the car that is 180bhp down and stay patient for a better opportunity...LOL You might want to check lap times of Kimi vs Max.
+1 He would have easily walked away with two GP victories as well, China, where the team pulled a Williams and forgot a car requires 4 wheels and Monaco, where he scored pole and was punished for having overlooked Perez' presence in the previous GP in Barcelona. I would have loved to have seen him race in the turbo years.
Which part? You wanted my theory which you thought was so dumb that I wouldn't dare to post it. I don't see anyone ridiculing it. Now it's up to you to prove that Hamilton will not have a small benefit of having 3-4 identical incidents. Just to be clear, we are not talking about hitting your teammate on purpose. It's only accidental contact that knocks both out at the begging of the race with zero points, zero penalties, and zero damage to drivetrain. You were convinced it is 100% benefit for Nico and zero for Hamilton.
My opinion is the same as the one below. ^^^^^^^^^This. However, I understand your logic even if I don't agree with it.
Don't worry tessa, I don't agree with you, it's a less than sensible idea, points mean prizes, if your donut doesn't score, he doesn't win, simples, and the more stupid incidents he has, the less support and love he will get from a well at Mercedes that appears to be drying up rather quickly
You mean both Mercedes wiped out, yet Ferrari still lost... That's not Ferrari yack, that's the highlight...
A nice gesture and any Ferrari driver has my sympathy, but ofcourse also Schumi couldn't make up the gap Mercedes currently has over Ferrari.
If Alonso was in Hamilton's car he probably would've made the pass stick You guys remember this from 2011? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02L56rD0aaE[/ame]
A brilliant overtake, but different as he stays on the hard track surface, as opposed to Lewis opting for "Grass Mowing".
Don't be so sure, he hammered the Williams at a point when they were massively ahead of the benneton, and he made those Ferrari dance !
The speed differences between the cars in the racestart you've shown are small. If Alonso would've made it stick, def. not on the same side, there obviously was no room once Rosberg shut the door hard. It was the speed diff. that lured Ham in the trap.
Oh yes he could, against McLaren when they were the best by far Michael passed both of them in the Hungarian GP when Ross Brawn told him he needed to pull qualifying laps for the next 15 laps in the middle of the race and lo and behold there he was out the front I've got it on VHS tape, I'll have to pull it out and look at it again ...... it was the race that turned me into a MS believer
Lol, a little romance is nice, but the Mercs. are walking the field with a car which is in Q a sec. a lap quicker, leaving a 4 time WDC champion in a Ferrari without any chance. In the Schumi days the gaps were much smaller. It's the current engine formula that's making all the difference.
....It's not the diference that is bigger,it's the diference between drivers that is smaller....we all saw (at least those with enough age for it) Gilles outdriving cars that were 2,5 seconds per lap faster than his Ferrari...and some of them were driven by w.campions!!...Shumialsowon several races were the williams had easily more than 1s per lap over the Ferrari.....
Typical of what? If you're trying to insult me, you should be clear about it. I'm not the one who said if you didn't take a chance on the first lap you wouldn't get another. You did. I'm only pointing out that races wouldn't be so long if there was no chance of passing later in the race. I did check lap times. I also saw plenty of passing in that race. You can keep defending Hamilton and his poor decision, but his team thinks it's his fault, and that's really the only thing that impacts him, isn't it?
And three times World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart. "Mercedes should fine an emotional Lewis Hamilton for causing the first-lap accident that put him and his team-mate Nico Rosberg out of last weekends Spanish Grand Prix, according to the three-times world champion Sir Jackie Stewart."
Lewis tried to play chicken with Nico from a less than favorable position and was the proximate cause for the entire incident.
Trying to assign blame misses the point that the 'team' suffered. Both drivers lost out and Nico could afford to shut the door on Lewis with the points lead he maintained.
Really ? oh ok i missed that ..perhaps you can post a quote from the real team boss, Toto? or even any other team member other than Niki? Thanks.
