    Hey all,

I am reupping my insurance with Hagerty's for another year. The rep reminded me that I have full windshield replacement coverage on my 87 328. Just for gits and shiggles, I asked the rep what happens if I do file a claim on a windshield that a replacement one cannot be located? Is hagerty's only going to put some no name asian made replacement, if such even exists? Do they have to locate an original Ferrari correct one?

    Would someone know what happens?

    Regards

I'm sure many a car has been off the road waiting for insurance to replace NLA parts. The answer they gave you shows it's not a priority. Still, I have seen 3x8 windshields for sale at times so they must be made occasionally.

They will investigate it and realize how expensive it would be and then raise your rates.

the plastic between the glass ages. you really don't want an old factory windshield. will be brittle and more prone to cracking. at least that is what a very long time glass installer told me. I'd rather have a new asian windshield provided it fits. Other issue is finding the trim that goes around the windshield

I believe if the trim is removed correctly and carefully it can be reused. It was on mine anyway.
