Rules certainly help to assess the blame here but in real world racing terms both drivers are at fault here. Rosberg for basically blocking a much faster approaching Hamilton and Hamilton for trying to make a balls-out move on his teammate in a spot with no run-off space. The team is the biggest loser here. "Mercedes non executive chairman Niki Lauda called the incident unacceptable and was quick to blame hamilton for being too aggressive. Villeneuve, who won the 1997 title after he survived a collision with Michael Schumacher at the final round of the season, begs to differ. You never saw it in the 80s because theyd kill each other, the 45-year-old Canadian told the Mirror. Now the drivers think they are in a video game, said Villeneuve. Its the one thing you never do. You can ask if Lewis should have been so aggressive but if you want to blame someone its 100 per cent Nico. He moved when Lewis had already made his move. You dont do that, its why there is a rule in place. Its the most dangerous thing you can do in racing - and the unfairest. From that point of view he was 100 per cent wrong. The stewards at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya eventually decided to take no further action regarding the collision, saying neither driver was wholly or predominantly at fault. " Who the hell is this guy? He has no idea what he is talking about. I much prefer the grand knowledge here on fchat from people that like to discuss what Hamilton is wearing and if he has any friends.
are you still banging on about this? no one was to blame....crap happens.....no action was taken because a. no one was to blame b. it was a racing incident c. it wasn't intentional get over it.
...and do tell me why JV would find 100% fault with the driver of a slower car moving off line and being hit from behind by another.... Hardly a unbiased opinion.....
Funnily enough, pretty much all experts put it at 50/50, some like Lauda mostly Lewis' fault. But the almighty JV has spoken...
Yeah, nothing like that ever happened in the 80s! Senna-Prost, Suzuka, 1989: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDAGmI6SH3k
JV was a muppet in the 90's, and a scruffier muppet now, his opinion means absolutely nothing as far as I'm concerned, just desperate to be remembered!
I'm a bit younger, and I first watched JV race when he was in NASCAR. Maldonado has nothing on JV in NASCAR. Holy crap what a bunch of torn up cars each event! https://youtu.be/ytyhFb-V1w0
