    The f12 is leagues above in terms of looks over the 599 gtb/hgte. There really is no contest as it is faster, sounds better etc.

    ...and the 575 "facelift".

    The F12 is perfect like it is and already a legend. Ferrari is well advised not to destroy this masterpiece with a pseudo facelift or an unnecessary renaming. They launched the TDF next to the F12 which is a great supplement with a sufficient differentiation. Till today the perfect product line!

    And because the F12 is such a great car its successor should be a completely new development with a new architecture. But it seems for such a step Ferrari needs a little bit more time. At the moment Ferrari is in the middle of a restructuring process and different projects are questioned or already stopped.

    And this situation makes me a little bit worry. Suddenly Ferrari will launch a questionable "intermediate step" to bridge the gap between the current front mid engine V12 GT to its true follower. It remains exciting!

    And I can even say with that the front lifter, it works perfectly in Manhattan as a daily driver, something that the 599 could never be. Very versitile the the F 12, a perfect vehicle in all respects.

    48 hour ban for you too. If someone's already received a temporary ban for a personal attack, it's probably not a good idea to respond with an insult of your own.

    And yes, this is over two weeks old, but it was just reported.

    Like a Ferrari, one can express one's feelings elegantly.

    A Brit might say - "Well, he's an interesting person..."

    Or another example, if a Brit thinks you are espousing complete rubbish:-

    "I'm not sure I could agree with that",
    or,
    "opinion is divided on the matter"
    or,
    "that's certainly a novel position to take"

    No insult, just understated, well mannered and followed by actions that make it gradually clearer....

    The discussion was about an F12M sometime in 2016 or 2017. the F12 is a sporty GT and the 'top' of Ferrari's line. There is my take on it:
    * they will do a face lift a la FF and GTC4Lusso. New steering wheel "this is the wheel for all new Ferraris"), infotainment, styling tweaks inside
    * slightly updated exterior lines ... crisper
    * they will update the electronics ... latest SSC, etc
    * 4WS (I think this is a must ... it's coming out on all the high end porsches now)
    * more HP ...maybe not a lot just for bragging rights- also because of extra weight
    * new brakes
    * Faster gear change and some of the 488's stuff (multiple downshifts on holding paddle, hill hold, etc)
    * still N/A

    I think the next generation will be the hybrid ... but I think they will not go turbo, but more electric ... would be a good way to get some 4WD ... but I have read a lot about the weight of batteries and electric motors.

    I have a 458 spider ... and have deposits on the 488 and the F12M (yep, dealer took it although no known time or spec). BTW, he said I can still order an F12 ... so it seems that different dealers have different allocations and some have used up, some not. I cannot afford them all so will need to pick one.

    So in summary I think the F12M will be a polishing and modernizing but not fundamental change to the F12. I guess we will see how we all do in months to years

    Incidentally, the comments about the slightly disappointing feeling of the F12 is why people upgrade the exhausts. Check JWW F12 IPE on youTube.
