I sold my car out of the blue yesterday. I wasn't even trying to sell it. I met the gentleman who purchased it at the Dallas Autorama last Sunday. He was showing an Isetta with a friend and had a little sign next to the Isetta with a list of other cars he was looking to buy. On that list was a 308. I chatted him up about my '85 QV Euro and at one point early in the conversation his friend asked if my car was for sale. As if on autopilot the word "yes" came rolling out of my mouth. He and his friend looked at the car Sunday night and I guess they liked what they saw as the guy came back yesterday for a test drive and he bought it.

My next move is from Texas to NY, so that was part of my spontaneous motivation for selling the 308. I had transport and a garage lined up, so the car had a place to go, but something made me say yes. The car has been in Texas since it was imported, so perhaps it was the will of the car answering that question. Veronica (my name for the 308) has quite the will!

Earlier this week I sent the new owner links to my posts on FChat and he joined, so he may present himself here. I am sure he will be as enriched as I have been from participating here.

I just want to say that this 308 group has been amazing. You guys have helped me through so much on my car over the last 4+ years and I want to thank you all for the wealth of information you all are.

I have met many 308 owners from all over the country, and I especially enjoyed the events in SoCal. Meeting up with Thomas Magnum, 4zaJim, MikeTuason, and others, riding to the 60 years of Ferrari in America with Hanknum, flying into the Santa Paula Airport for a 308 meet - fun stuff! The Dallas FCA has also been a great and fun club to be a member of. I guess I need to remove my pin from Fairview's Map of 308 owners.

Ciao for now, but not farewell. I will continue to troll around here....

Sold my GTB QV and within six months I realized I made a big mistake. Hopefully you were not too hasty. Nice Euro QVs are not easily replaced.

Whoa is right just like what Mark said. This is more shocking than Marco Rubio's mocking Trump this morning. Glen, you know it's never too late, you can always buy another one and if ever yo want another one, just talk to Thomas Magnum:) Anyway if you're back in town give me a ring and best of luck to you.

Oh well, sorry to see this post, although given our chat last year I'm not completely surprised. Hopefully once you're past the move and settled you will regain your senses LOL. I promise that shot of you and your plane in Santa Paula will eventually arrive.

All of my cars are for sale for the right price. He found your price point it sounds like.

I'm sure, you did fine, but you will miss it.

Yeah, the Euros are a rare breed in the states. I'm content, and I think the buyer is too. He'll have fun with it.

A thousand things went through my mind as this unfolded over 5 days. I could have backed out, but as you say, I can always buy another one.

I sold the Santa Monica house last year, so when I come back later this year it will be for a short visit. I will let you know!

Okay Jim, I won't give up on getting that picture. I'm sure the hand carved frame you commissioned from the finest craftsman in Italy will be worth the wait! LOL.

I am already thinking of the next car, so many possibilities. GT4? 456? GTB? Maybe a 4C! My first order of business is to find a garage. Ooops, I mean a house. :)

Yes, I bought Glen's 308. I'm Dave in Mesquite,Texas. I've been looking for a while. Learning a little as I go. I had 3 people respond to wanted sign. All 3 in the DFW area. The first one was $75,000 for a white GTB. Didn't want white. The next one was in to bad of shape. Wrecked in the front and rear paint coming off, hasn't been started since 99. Glen's sounded like what I wanted. That's why I went that night to see it. Sometimes you snooze you lose. I don't think I could of bought a better car off of a nicer guy. Felt he was very honest with me. I thought many times when he text me he was going to tell me the deal was off. I known Glen is going to miss it. My guys and I spent all day cleaning and waxing. Great great shape for a 1985. I didn't go wrong. I'm being called to bed now. I'll be back with lots of question. Thanks Glen. O what a time we had with the money. Dave

Hey Dave - Sorry I am just reading this now. I haven't been paying much attention here lately.... Looks like you are getting the rest of the little things sorted out on the car. I couldn't have sold "Veronica" to a nicer guy. Have fun!!!!

Glen, what a great car. I drive it a lot. Working on all the little details I find. I like everything to work and look as it should. Been a challenge on somethings. But I'm coming to the end of things to do. The producer of Car Hunters didn't want the Ferrari or my Isetta in the background when filming at my shop. You can still see my shop. It will be on in June on the History Channel. We are selling a black 64 Impala in the show. Glen keep in touch. I've been flying with my friend lately. Here's a picture of his plane.
