Dean, yours is nicer than the bat car,innit..as they are..rusty doors etc. Pics I've seen anyway...but this car is ok,well bought/sold. Cheers, RE
Well almost $275K, BUT NOT QUITE!!! gets you to about $400K by the time you fix everything. Or gives you a quarter million dollar driver? Hmmm . . . Dunno. D
The market has spoken. The last 20 minutes of the auction was exciting! Hemmings has 7 driver level GT's ranging from $295K to $360K asking prices http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/ferrari/246gt. Each has needs. I think the BaT Dino was well bought and well sold. It looks like the new owner can enjoy it as-is and budget for what he wants to do to it when he wants. This Dino checks off many of my boxes! Really like this picture of this car - wish I had the guts to drill holes in mine for the lens covers This comment on BaT made me laugh! CC
Yes! Note the passenger side lens cover is the preferred Brandoli style version that continues the curvature of the fender. The driver's side is the flat sheet plexi style that were sold in period by Maranello Concessionaires in the UK. These aren't as nice and don't look integrated IMO. You can see the difference in the various views. Does anyone know which style Superformance sells? There's got to a be a clever solution to attaching the lenses with earth magnets (Rob?) ;-) Freeman
Freeman - thanks for the heads up! I added that one to my spares box for when a screw up and leave another one at the gas station. Rob
Maybe I am dumb, but based on the pics I am seeing, this car isn't a POS, just a car with needs. Seems like a nice driver changed hands for a super reasonable amount. Shawn
I agree that it is not a POS (although I did refer to it elsewhere as appearing to be a rust bucket, which was a little harsh), but the photos show rust in the bottom of the doors, with paint bubbles pretty much for sure indicating rust in the sills and rockers under the doors, and in other areas too. On the other hand, it seems to run well in the video, with little to no smoke, sounds good, and looks great from 15 to 20 feet away. So, it needs attention in some areas, and might cost, what, $10-$20,000 to fix the rust areas and re-paint? While it might not be letter perfect, it would appear to be a very good driver at a reasonable price.
