im looking for a specific submariner, and the nearby shops dont carry it

anyway, when i search online, there are many jewelry sites who carry it

there are so many fake rolex out there, it feels bit sketchy to purchase something thas over 10k value

have you guys purchased a watch online? how can you trust their certificate number?

what's the right way to purchase a luxury watch online?

or should i just avoid online purchasing?

    thank you for your help

    John.

Use Gil Tal. No doubt that he's the best for Rolexes and Panerai.

It's safe if you purchase from reliable sellers. Gil is a long time mainstay and sponsor at the 6speedonline community and has sold many many high end watches including a few AP and Panerai watches to me.

If you're looking for a Rolex online and don't want to buy from an AD (Authorized Dealer), the very best and safest way to buy is from one of the Trusted Sellers on Rolex Forums - Rolex Watch Forum

Check out the Rolex for sale section For Sale: ROLEX (brand) watches - Rolex Forums - Rolex Watch Forum , and also check out the Buyers/Sellers Who's Who?? section Buyers/Sellers "Who's Who" ?!?! - Rolex Forums - Rolex Watch Forum . After a bit of browsing, you'll start to recognize several names that come up over and over as trusted sellers - you'll see sellers with multiple listings who have been on that forum for years, then you can search the who's who section for feedback on them.

Off the top of my head, some of the very best, most reputable sellers on there are DAVIDSW, takuya, justrolexes, OCROLEXGUY, and there are quite a few others. Those guys have thousands of sales in a very tight community, and many consider them to be better sellers than an AD - as reputable, and better pricing.

No need to over think it. Just buy what you want from a reputable source and you will be fine.

    Do you mean this one?
My friend is a very reputable seller of used watches.
I bought from him a Rolex for my wife, and AP and my favorite a UN Freak.

try bernardwatch.com, i have bought rolex, panerai, bell & ross, breitling, only had a problem once and they were surprisingly super easy to deal with. they had me return watch no question asked, and were willing to replace , refund or fix, my choice. i highly recommend them.

Its an unsafe practice to google and then click on a link from the search results. Its very easy to set up a page that looks like the place you are looking for. Even Hotmail, EBay, Facebook, big banks, etc. have been copied by fraudsters. Never google or search engine when using a credit card online or going to site you need to log in. Find out who is reputable or go through EBay and type their URL into the browser manually. Web search find item and buy, the chance of getting burned goes up huge!

I wouldn't shy away from pre-owned. However I should warn you to take your heart medicine before you go looking for vintage Rolex watches. Some of the vintage Sub's will set you back 3 to 4 times the cost of a new one.
