+1 Exactly. My 355GTS top is stored never to be seen. Even my Boxster has only had the top up a dozen times in 15 years! I hate it with the top up, love it when its down.

If you're driving a convertible around with the top up all the time, you're in the wrong car.

Latest Forza mag listed 355 values from $30-$50k and up to $60k for spiders (going from my memory from yesterday). They are even more wrong then Hagerty

This is certainly only one data point, but it might explain the phone call I got yesterday from a dealer asking if I was interested in his F355 at a $10-15k discount from his asking price last week....

They've peaked and are heading back down. I don't expect them to ever hit the $40k range again, though...

Yes across the board with cars. IMHO I believe that was the last hurrah for collector cars & exotics.

Collectors here have sold off and looking for historic and or race cars.
I'm where I want to be except for maybe a 360 or 430 challenge for a hobby racer so I dont have to beat on my others

355 has left port starting to sail away for street drivers.

    :)

I just couldn't bring myself to selling mine. What else could you get for the same price that's better? There's nothing out there that remotely comes close. Just my worthless opinion.

There are lots of better choices once you get over the fact that it doesn't say Ferrari on the hood.

Maybe if you just care about numbers, but the total package is hard to beat.

Pete, you emotions are showing. :)

To others, do I really need to make a list of what I think are better cars? Consider performance, brakes, handling, reliability, cost to maintain,.... you can add style and sound if you like. They are kind of subjective though.

If it's a numbers comparison you're making than I don't need to see the list. However, if it's a total package thing, including the emotional aspect, then yes I'm quite curious.

There are plenty of other cars that can beat a 355 from a performance point of view but no other car I've ever driven/owned gives me the same feeling/pleasure as a 355 does.

List them, I'd be interested to see. An obvious choice with be a c6 zr1, but yeah the numbers are way higher while actually driving the car leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe the c7? Same thing, though a little lower numbers and a little better experience. Maybe a 991 carrera S? Not much more in terms of numbers (400hp in a little heavier car), so if you like it better maybe. Not my cup of tea at all, though.

Not going to do that because I'm coming from a completely different place. The question was, "what can you get that's better for the same price (or less?)." We all have different ideas of what better means.

If you feel there are better options for the money what's stopping you from selling for something different?

well, are ferrari's numbers correct! I also got a 997 4S with only 355 HP which is much much faster than my 355 spider and in fact up to par with a 458 from stand still to about 150 miles/hour.

I doubt there are many 355 owners or prospective owners who really care if it's faster than a 997. I'm about to buy my second 355 and I sure don't.

Mine ran much quicker than Ferrari's claimed numbers, faster than a 997 4S.

Your car should be absolutely destroyed by a 458.

in contrary. me and some friends of mine went out for a couple of days. 2 458s and 2 F12s and they we amazed by how quick the 4s was. they could not believe the 4S was standard as they had no chance to pull away from me.
Even I was surprised as a Porsche is not really my cup of tea but for some reason I had to take the Porsche.

Right and we're asking you what your ideas are? I'm actually quite curious about this as I've been thinking about it for the past month or so.

+1 there's no way a Carrera S hangs with a 458 up to 150 miles per hour. The 458 destroys it from the beginning.

Let me put this another way, since I doubt your friends cars have serious problems the only other explanation is they can't drive or it was raining and they didn't want to die. 997 4S isn't in the slightest bit comparable in terms of acceleration.

    You're talking a car that traps what, 110 in the 1/4 vs 130+? 355 vs a 570hp and 730hp car?

    Different universe.
