    That is fantastic!!!

Tools are helpful aids. Not always required, but helpful. Great job!

Oh, I see you have the bumper off - smart man :)

Hey Larry - the confusion is his tool vs mine. His tools (alignment pins, etc) are to install the pumpkin, mine is to remove (or press out the clutch assembly) from the housing bearing.

    2 different purposes.

Things are getting mixed up here. I was quoting FBB remarks about Daves tool which is to remove the pumpkin not drive home. FBB quoted " you can use a tool like this to drive your pumpkin home" but its not its to remove ...The tool m. stojanovic has looks awesome but its to install.

FBB comment, that you quoted, was regarding my "pumpkin home" tool.

And the exhaust out, removing both is not a big deal.

You are correct. I am from the school of bumper on for several reasons. I work by myself. It really takes 2 people to get that bumper back on without scratching it even if I tape it. I am much less likely to scratch the paint on the bumper or the car if I don't have the bumper loose. The only advantage to bumper off is access and clear vision to get the pumpkin back on. Any time I save with bumper off access I loose in dinking with getting the bumper body lines just right again. Once you have done it a few times you will realize with bumper on you have about a mile of space and with bumper off you got about 10 miles of space. I'm just real big on doing things in a way to avoid another problem to fix. Murphy is alive and well and has many friends. They always seem to find me.

Also readers should note what m.stojanovic posted about using his tool "gently and easily one man". He understands exactly what I am talking about and how the clutch system works, and uses his tool accordingly. He gets it.

Interesting, I was never able to remove the exhaust system with the bumper in place. Would get caught up on the bumper trying to drop it down and tips too wide to make it through the rear bumper support structure to go upwards.

Dave, when I did the seals in my clutch I was able to remove the muffler/exhaust and disassemble the clutch with plenty of room without having to remove the bumper.

Having the bumper off and out of the way may give you a lot more room, however I don't believe it is necessary as I had a lot of room and was very comfortable doing this job with the bumper on, and I am not a small person.

I've removed and reinstalled a 355 rear bumper (given I own that model), multiple times, by myself with zero issues whatsoever. As I said prior, I really would like you to explain how you remove a clutch with the muffler on. Removing a muffler (while possible) with the bumper on is far more risk than what you sight in this thread.

I must be in the minority, as I had zero issues removing the muffler/exhaust without removing the bumper.

+1 ...... as some have mentioned ..... 355 needs bumper removal to R&R the muffler ..... and the 348 does not ..... :)

A few things prompted me to think about the pumpkin re-installation:

    1. Possibility of damage to the O-ring (1st picture, happened to one of the members)
    2. Difficulty of engaging the two splines
    3. Doing it "one man"

To further reduce the possibility of O-ring damage (the clutch plate splines have to pass tightly over it), I filed down (rounded) a bit each clutch spline edge that first contacts the O-ring (2nd pic).

My full write-up is at http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/500255-triple-seals-pumpkin-installation-another-way.html. Hope it will be of help.
