I have (real) Euro mirrors on my QV. The base is shorter that the flag mirrors and one of the original holes is going to be exposed a tiny bit on the front. My car is black so you never notice it.

If you want to put this type on your car you are going to have to drill another hole but it gets even more complicated than that.

Under the door skin is a metal bar that is tapped to accept the factory screws for the flag mirror from above. The holes in the base of the Euro mirror will not line up with both of them. Drilling a second hole through the door skin and metal bar under it may be your only option (and not the end of the world because it will always be covered with either mirror). I don't remember at the moment if you could drill a hole in the base of the Euro to go with the original hole easily. I did it so long ago, but it was either not an option for some reason or I just didn't think I would be able to do it and get them lined up correctly. Either way it was far easier to just run a drill bit through the opening in the Euro mirror and, again, it won't matter because it will always be covered or used depending which mirror is on the car.

Now you need to decide how to do it. Either you will have to tap the metal bar for a screw from above or you will need to pull the door panel off and go the nut a bolt route from below. That is what I did. So unless you are skilled enough to drill screw threads from above, plan on pulling off your door panel. That may be your excuse to go ahead and upgrade your speakers too since everything will be off.

Another odd thing was when I plugged the Euro mirror in it immediately began moving continuously as if I was holding the adjuster button on. I plugged my original Flag mirror back up to see if I did something I shouldn't have by accident, and it was fine. Plugged the Euro back and boom, on, and stayed on again so there is some difference between the wiring in a USA car Flag mirror and a Euro mirror. At least there was in my case.

I'm the only one that drives my car so I just left it unplugged, set it where I wanted it and left it alone forever.

The Tornado mirrors that look Euro are visibly smaller that the real ones and I just don't think they look right because of their size but that is just me and yes, you can glue on a little Ferrari badge to make it look a little more original. But they are still much smaller that the real things.

My original mirrors were the Euro style electric mirrors and i could not stand them. They have never worked (we have had the car for 25 years) and i could not see from the passenger side. It could not even be adjusted manually.
I installed a set of the Walker Sport mirrors, they fit in the holes and they look Great! Sleek and manually operated, I have tightened them and they don't move over bumps or when I close the doors.

    Have a look:

Good necromancer thread! I have to stick my hand out the window to adjust my driver side mirror. I have no passenger side mirror. Why in the world would I want a passenger side mirror? Adjusting it would be a challenge :):).

Looks like you have a non standard arm rest. Are some of those wires for a tweeter?

Could never see the beauty in those OE Flag mirrors. They provided a wonderful view of whatever was behind, but looked like they belonged on a farm truck. So one day they were removed and replaced with something else. The aspheric mirror glass creates an unusual wide angle view - great on the road but difficult determining the rear corners when backing up in tight spots. The OE mounting base was first used to test the mirrors, but that too is a seriously unattractive piece of hardware. Stout, ugly and heavy. The non-OE mount is just a finished RP part. Simple, light weight and covers the amazing array of holes in the door skin.
