Red is everywhere in NJ. They will probably ship yours last because they like looking at yellow better than all those resale red ones they are tired of seeing! Just like Christmas it will arrive eventually...
let's make some 458/488 sound clip comparisons then we will take my 650s out and make a video of us going head to head
Arnie, almost there! Looks like I am about a month behind you based on when the final build pic arrived (got mine over this past weekend). How did you find out that the car is in Jersey? Leon
Hey Leon, dealer gets notice the day the car gets there and should let you know. Are you dealing with Stefano?
Congrats cpiguy! How long before I get mine? I just got an email from factory on engine/trans install. How long does it take? July?
Arnie. You should have you car this week I suspect? Super exciting! John458. It's about 8 weeks from last photo (car completed) to western US.
You're looking at approximately 7 to 8 weeks from Status 50, which is engine and transmission install. Put's your car here middle of August
HA..no worries. You are going to f'ing love your new car. I've put nearly 1000 miles on mine in the last 6 weeks and it is just so amazing. I loved my 458 but this is on another level. Its crazy how even my 2015 TTS feels pedestrian to me now. I drove it hard yesterday and just did nothing for me. Hard to imagine from the ultimate GT car that does 0-60 in 2.6 seconds. When I had it and the 458 I loved the TTS. Of course maybe its just my short attention span
Thank you for those who responded. 8 weeks! I heard that Ferrari takes the entire month of August off and no cars will be in production. Is this true? Anyone? Hopefully it will be on the ship in July. Do I sound a bit anxious?
RCorsa - I currently have a 458 and Cali T and waiting for the 488. By the way, I am looking to sell my 458 and Cali T and get something else. I was thinking about getting a 911 TTS or a Huracan or a McLaren. What do you think?
I know you're not asking me, but here's a suggestion. The cars you're thinking about, all share the same basic layout. They are all giving you a somewhat similar experience. Of course they are not the same, but still similar. When we exchange our 458 Spider for a 488 Spider later this year or early next year, we will not keep the 458 as we don't really need two mid engine sports cars. If I was in your shoes, I'd go for something that provided me with an equally exciting, but quite different experience - namely an F12, or if you're willing to wait, the F12 successor. If you haven't already, drive an F12, you won't be disappointed.
The TTS is a great car. It's crazy fast, handles amazingly well, brakes well and super comfortable with amazing fit and finish. It not super emotional. Pretty quiet. I use it as a GT car and daily driver (13k miles in last 18 months) I would think of you got the convertible it would be a replacement for the Cali more than the 458. However once you get the 488 I guarantee you will forget about the 458. If you don't you can sell it to me for MSRP and I'll flip it for a 50k up charge. .
I also have a 911 TTS with a tune and race exhaust. I totally agree with Rcorsa. I absolutely love the car. If I could only own one really nice car, that would be it. But once I get the 488, I'm afraid the TTS will sit in the garage and rot. My daily driver is a BMW i3, and as crazy as it is, I love it. It's like driving around in a luxury golf cart.
Thanks TheMayor! Too bad the Vegas dealership closed; we enjoyed that site and easy to get to for out of towners
