For anyone interested in a nice restoration candidate this certainly seems it is worth checking out. If it is as described, could be a great deal. No affiliation.

WOW! Just stumbled upon this thread.

Would say the 2 928s I've owned are the only cars that I really miss.

I have always thought cars in primer...especially when in the wet san phase are oddly beautiful:)

Sir, great job choosing this car and submitting it for such a thoughtful and careful rebuild. I think you're blazing a on which trail more will follow. May I ask how the paint was stripped? I'm guessing with aircraft stripper (and a huge amount of care)? Thanks for sharing. John in CT

Update on paintwork from Jim Doerr:

The car is looking great. Seamus (the painter) was able to block most the car with only primer. Very little body filler was used, and was documented along the way.

Final blocking (the 3rd blocking) is this Friday & Sat.

Base and first clear the following week. I will be at the shop next Thurs to review the basecoat.

The goal is to have it finished by the end of June.

Thank you very much for your kind words. You are correct: aircraft stripper was used.

We are on track. I had my expert review the primer work so that we can correct any issues prior to laying any paint. First coat went down earlier this week.

This stunning Minerva Blue 928 showed up at our C&C a few weeks ago. The owner did a no expense spared restoration. It was like new! Apparently the 97th U.S. Car.
