Impressive as that pit-stop is, I can't help thinking: "That's all well and good Williams..........But your car's still too bloody slow on track!"

And don't forget that Williams has had the fastest pit stop at EVERY Grand Prix this year. Hats off to them!!

I think the success behind their pit-stops is due to their innovative jack they are using.

Soon pit stops will come insignificant me thinks. I mean they are just too bloody fast, soon the naked eye won't even catch it!

Part of their speed improvement is supposedly due to them using fewer threads on their wheel hubs and nuts to reduce the number of rotations to put the nut on, thus saving time.

Ferrari were the first to do that a few years ago so Williams appear to have been a bit slow on the uptake on that one! (I wonder where Williams got the idea from? - Any ideas Rob Smedley? )

Everybody copies everybody. The one that does it better is all that matters, and in this case Williams does it better, and consistently better.

I believe they have reduced the number of threads. However, since the air guns rotate at about 9,000 rpm, reducing the number of turns required to tighten the wheel nut from, say, six to three would reduce the time by only about 1/150th of a second. Every little bit counts, but ......

Well, Williams are desperate to find time savings - And they're not finding any on track so far!
