Guys, just buttoning up the two spiders 30K services. Nothing really new to report except the usual wear and tear exposed on the components etc.
I had to reseal the Rack and it was the first time I have done this on an FCar. Just to let those know out there that the seals are from a Volvo S60 and cost me $90. I would rather R&R two engines that R&R another steering rack. Not a fun job.

Welcome to hell where I have been several times. I posted a seal kit for that rack sometime back. It was $35.

What was worse resealing the rack, or getting the rack out of the car then back in?

I had my steering rack rebuilt by the shop that did my PPI in CA- after researching f-chat saw how big of a job it was to remove and re-install...

If I had to say, I think getting the rack out and back in is the bigger pain in the ash.

The grunt work of removing everything and reinstalling was tight and extensive and a pain in the butt. I was tempted to just saw it in half to teach IT a lesson (LOL!) and get it out easier. Common sense prevailed. Popping in the seals no problem.

well the seal at the passenger side is OK, the one at the driver side is much harder.

Compared to disconnecting everything including the shafts, couplers ( includinding squeezing myself under the dash) and removing/ replacing the assembly... No question. I could put those seals in with my tongue. I feel like I just finished a 10 mile marathon with a hernia.
