According to a Carthrottle video where their journalist was in the Chiron with test driver, the driver said they will do a proper high speed run in 2018. I suspect the 260-280 mph tires are still prototypes which will be ready by then. Exciting times!

Christopher personally said his Regera was built to race up to 250mph after which is pointless because only a couple places on earth where higher speeds can be achieved. Regera reached 250mph 3 seconds before Chiron (according to both companies claimed times). That is a huge difference!

3 seconds is a big diff to 100 mph but certainly not 250 mph.

Remember, also, that as of now these are "claimed" performance figures and that sometimes manufacturers over/under-estimate, whether purposely or not.

not sure I like that dashboard. not nearly exotic/luxurious enough. Bugatti needs some rare woods

Electric would be so much quicker. The car is old already.

Do you think we have the battery tech to power a run to this car's top speed with a car that weighs as much as this car?

Holy crap, that interior is dreadful. What a boring sounding and looking car!

I was a fan of the Veyron, but this is a step backwards in everything except performance.

i agree about interior and sound (which is like a gtr) but not a step backwards since it looks miles better than veyron in addition to performance. veyron was blandly styled while chiron is totally wild looking

I'm sure in person the interior is stunning. The quality and feel of the interior is what these Bugs are all about. I hated on Bugs until I drove a Vitesse, then I totally got it.

Certainly do. Trouble is the batteries don't have the staying power as of yet. It will come, but it's just no there yet, and quite frankly, neither IMHO is this car.

Bugatti needs to be a step above everything.

Last year during Monterey Car Week there was a Bugatti party at Pebble Beach at the Del Monte Lodge but somehow they forgot to invite me.
Maybe this year somebody knows where their rented house is and can tell us so we can go by and crash the party, er. see it from the road.

Best overview so far that I have come across: https://youtu.be/KX3UuRSHHSA

I think the c/horse shoe shapes in the interior are marvellous. It sounds way better than the veyron with some element of distinctiveness. The exterior is epic with the lights, side lines, rear etc. Overall I think it is an absolute knockout.

    Little Instagram vid: https://www.instagram.com/p/BHqUbGlDW0w/?tagged=chiron

    Interesting spec: https://www.instagram.com/p/BHuqX_OB6OC/?tagged=chiron

In a weird way, the side view almost looks like the car is front engined.

Having said all that, would I rather this over a LaFerrari? Nope. But it would be an interesting mistress;).

Love this new car, but it is really sad to realize that i will never own it. I love car and always follow and read all recent news and updates. Here is a good website Autotrends Today where i have read a full review on this car!

I'll say it again. It's outdated and just plain old. Dinosaur tech. Bugatti should be over the top cutting edge. This car is not.
