Hi all, after I get my 458 I plan to lower it a little, about 1-1.25" or so. Not sure if I am doing it on the full stock suspension, or if I will need to swap out to Novitec springs yet, but that is besides the point.

My question is after lowering I know the camber will change. Especially in the rear, it will pick up some negative camber. I am not a fan of this look, and was curious if the cars camber adjustments will allow getting it back into spec, or if aftermarket parts would be needed, and if so what ones.

    Thanks -

I am curious about this as well...do we know for sure the camber can be corrected after a drop without changing out any parts? I can't get a straight answer yet.

I honestly think some of the lowered cars you see with the camber not put back to OEM spec is because the owners may just like the looks...

If you use the Novitec springs, the car will gain approximately 1 degree of negative camber front and rear. There is enough range in the camber adjustment to get the car very close to original camber, after lowering, assuming you;re using the Novitec springs and keeping the drop to a reasonable amount.

You will want some of the additional negative camber to take advantage of the changes however, so you don't want to go back completely to stock camber specs.

Why don't you want to go back?

Not from my experience: I lowered he car 55mm and did not gain any
noticeable negative camber, so much so that I had my dealer add
1 degree negative camber at the front and 0.3 degrees at the back,
which is the most negative camber they can add using shims.

Your dealer should be able to make all necessary camber adjustments.

When the car is lowered, the suspension geometry is altered, changing the camber curve and the lower ride height separates your roll center and center of gravity in the car, causing additional body roll, further disrupting the chamber curve. So to maintain the same cornering grip levels, let alone improve them, you will need more static negative camber to achieve comparable dynamic camber. This is all coming from the perspective that you'd like your ferrari to handle just as well or better than it did to begin with.

however, the amount of negative camber garnered when the car is lowered,
even by an excessive amount like my Italia is, would be less than 1 degree: perhaps 0.1 to 0.2
degrees max., making it almost unnoticeable, which is precisely why I felt the need to add a full
1 degree negative camber in the front and 0.3 degrees in the back, you can clearly see the
added camber, esp. in the front

Other good pic showing what added neg. camber of 1 deg. front and 0.3 deg. back
looks like; imho recommended for anyone lowering the car more than 30mm,
dealer should be able to adjust

My 458 spider was lowered by the dealership using only the stock suspension. I went down about 1.25" all around. One of my stipulations was that I kept the stock alignment settings. There was NO PROBLEM in doing so.
Yes, there is a point when lowering too far on the stock suspension would preclude using the factory recommended settings.

I went down an inch front and rear and added the Speciale alignment. Handles much better and keeps the stock ride. Plenty of adjustment on the stock arms.
