Hi people from the middle east

I was interested in Ferrari sales figures by countries. Wich countries buy the most ferraris

    I found this official document.

    https://carindustryanalysis.files.wordpress.com/2013/06/by-country.jpg

I can't believe that in the Whole UAE, abu Dhabi, Dubai and the others emirates, only 29 new ferraris have been sold in one year.

More ferrari sold in Netherland than in UAE ? really curious.

    What do you think ?

And in the list there are no other Gulf countries... there are a lot of customers there isn't it ?

As a resident of Abu Dhabi who came to this beautiful country in 2009, I don't think that the document you posted might be as accurate as you think it is.

Only 29 Ferrari's being sold across the 7 emirates in the UAE within a year is almost impossible...

The dealership's (Al Tayer Motors, UAE) in Dubai and Abu Dhabi alone would have sold at least twice of that number in 2012... when the 458 Italia launched in Dubai in 2010, it was in such high demand that the waiting list stretched to around 2-3 years. So that would mean a fair bit of 458's being sold in 2012 and 2013, and that was only in Dubai...

This is not counting the other models as well. The California was received rather well in the UAE. There must be a handful of 599's sold as well. It was then Ferrari's flagship so....

The F12 however was launched in November, 2012 in Dubai so I highly doubt any examples were sold within the same year.

Also, I noticed that Malaysia isn't even on this list which is weird as there are quite a bit of Ferrari's in Malaysia, not even a single Ferrari sold in 2012 in Malaysia? Yeah I don't think so.... a good guestimation would be around 15-20 Fezza's sold in 2012

I'd appreciate if OP would cite the source as to where he got this document

Also, a few fun facts as to why supercars and luxury cars are so common in the UAE.

    1. There are no sort of taxes on any cars over here. Also no luxury tax/supercar taxes and gas guzzler tax etc.

    2. The earning capacity is higher, hence it being easier for you buy luxury cars/supercars

    3. The 2nd hand market is absolutely bonkers, especially for continental cars (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Mercedes and BMW in particular) as they depreciate extremely badly and in a rather rapid fashion. It is understood that European cars depreciate badly globally but it find it even more so in the UAE as there are too many of them on the market (again, it goes back to both my points mentioned earlier, much easier to buy as opposed to other countries)

Hope I was of some help here.

Can't be true... considering there are more than 15 laferrari's alone.

    458's and 488's everywhere.

Total BS. I just checked an online site for used cars in the UAE and there are presently 25 2012 Ferraris for sale on this site alone, so there are very likely a couple hundred 2012 Ferraris in the UAE.

    https://uae.dubizzle.com/motors/used-cars/ferrari/?price__gte=&price__lte=&year__gte=2012&year__lte=2012&kilometers__gte=&kilometers__lte=&seller_type=&keywords=&is_basic_search_widget=0&is_search=1&places__id__in=--&added__gte=&auto_agent=

Same site has 15 488's for sale now including 3 spiders.

If that figure is accurate it means one third of the new ferraris sold in the UAE each year park in my office parking in Abu Dhabi each morning. That would be statistically unusual.

I suspect the owners would be nonplussed to see photos of their cars on the web (and the security staff may become curious).

Besides, nothing too exciting (or attractive enough to be worthy of a picture in my opinion) about any of the current models. Go to VIP parking at one of the malls and you will see more interesting stuff.

It looks like many cars find their way to UAE and Saudi Arabia via parallel export.
