I like shmee a lot - you don't choose who ur parents are - I like his reviews as they're very relevant to 90 percent of the driving most people actually do

Interesting summary in the telegraph Lusso test which will make Brian's day:

I wanted to love the original FF and the GTC follow-up very much. The world needs more high-performance shooting brakes, but while the GTC is likely to be more stable on slippery roads, it doesn’t steer or corner as well as its predecessor on dry surfaces.
For that reason, this formerly five-star Ferrari has just lost one.

However, this test comes with a health warning given it was tested by a journalist I had never heard of, did not sound that well informed, and that the interior shot was mistakenly of a Bentley GT, so I am not quite sure how convincing a test it is.

The only pic I can see is definitely the dash of the Lusso.

Ever heard similar feedback of F12tdf rear wheel steering?

Do FF owners feel better if the Lusso is less successful?
They shouldn't. Instead they should feel happy to own their FF.

    Live and let live.

And I actually think that a V8 Successor with a shortened and lightened front and some additional re styling paired with a lower price could be a very nice new model.

I enjoy Shame's videos a lot too. He's just one voice of many, so you don't have to watch it if you don't like it.

I agree, they always move the game on so if you love your prior model, then keep it :)

But I doubt the V8 would feature reduced dimensions nor much reduced weight. The plumbing for the turbos add weight back.

Looking at the FF posted in this thread I think the GTC has lost perhaps a bit of sharpness to the overall styling.

There is no question in my mind, either would make a fantastic car and a supreme daily driver supercar.

I have taken a great interest in the FF vs Lusso opinions for reasons you can probably guess.

One thing I would like to share is this: isn't it remarkably wonderful how we have a choice of these 2 incredible cars. Ferrari continues to produce motor cars that excite the soul and inspire the senses. The slightly iffy days of 360 - 430 are long gone, with 458 (ok 8), F12, CA T, and FF/Lusso all being in their own ways truly wonderful.

So yes the rear of the Lusso may be slightly busy and the RWS may take off the intuitive edge, and the F12 may be perhaps too quick for the Clarksons amongst us - but have we ever had it so good?

I was in a Maybach today and came away thinking both the FF or Lusso leave me happier.

All I can say is well done Ferrari!

    So many incredible cars...

Bah huge dilemma for me right now - sell the FF to the dealer next week and wait for a GTC. Or just add a California T and keep the FF for atleast 2-3 more years. Essentially the pricing between the upgrade to the GTC and a Calif T are scary close.

I would add the Cali T and keep the FF, I own a 612 and a California and use them both.

Definitely much, much more refined with the GTC4. That's both good and bad depending on what the driver prefers.

Yea. More refined/more GT and more quiet around town is not for everyone, but for some absolutely. I love the steering and throttle and pedal feel of the FF, would not change a thing. I do like the FF with +4 or +5 PSI from factory on all 4 and then Comfort makes more sense (tighter) and Sport/Bumpy is perfectly extra firm.

The horn in the middle is cool, but I have learned to stay on the buttons, and it's not an issue. The extra cooling and quieter fans are better. I want a setting that's 1.5 on the FF, again, not a deal breaker.

I absolutely hope they outsell the FF, which sold just fine thank you ... and I hope they don't go TTV8 ... although that is sounding likely.

When I look at the new dual displays graphic fonts, and the fonts on the steering wheel, and the overkill in the exterior design, I'm obviously very put off ... really looks cheap ant not worthy of Ferrari ... 100% not a beautiful car to me. The interior is modern, the rear end and fins are old, seems without integrity. But most people have more generic taste in cars won't care, I get it. Those same people want a more GT car, so they will be happy.

Schmee was not into the car in the first half, too GT, then wanted one for sure in the second half, let's give him a few months back in the FF to decide. He's sweet, generic reviews for daily drivers.

No interest in the rear wheels moving, feels weird to me. And long term, more things to go wrong on a used car.

The power of the FF can be bumped 30 hp, if anyone needs that. Chip it and an exhaust. But really, it's got plenty.

Haven't driven it yet but now seen it multiple times and in multiple colours. I'm not a 'GT' kind of driver - stopped buying Astons for that reason and have had 360's, 430's, CS and now Speciale. The Lusso is a big improvement aesthetically over the FF. I'm not a lover of 'generic' design and I have a lot of experience commenting on car design for manufacturers at clay and prototype stage, ahead of buying thousands for import to various countries, so you can't simply dismiss my opinion as "he's a simple soul who doesn't know any better".

This is a very sophisticated development of the former car, whose grace and elegance diminishes nothing by its arrival, as with all cars. FF now seems older, again as usual.

I can't comment on the driving experience, but given the FF is already a very heavy car, I'm afraid it itself is a 'GT' kind of machine. And a very good one. Not a patch on the 'sportiness' of the Speciale but that is not always appropriate. The FF does not flow as well as the mid engined car but has a beautiful, creamy-smooth engine that makes the driving experience for me. Rear wheel steer, if it does what they say it will, (and why shouldn't it?) will help the car out in its area of weakness. I am hopeful that the driving experience will be an improvement over the FF and will suit the car well. Let's face it, they have good previous in that regard.

Can I say it is better? No. Because I haven't driven it yet.

Very well put. As with the 488, the new design makes its predecessor look like a stepping stone on the way to the full realisation of the designer's original vision.

Lukey I appreciate your post, however it's still your opinion ;) regardless of where you've been or what you've done! Art is subjective always

Also two reports said the FF was a sharper/sportier drive, so I don't see how the rear wheel steer adds more of that , it seems as if reviewers are making it a negative not a positive. Not sure?

All I know is the afF does any and everything I want it to do, and this is coming from a track guy ex club racer... I manhandle the hell out of it and it complies every time , hardly feels it's weight
