    1986 TR Original owner 21,000 factory miles experiencing some clutch slippage in 4th & 5th gear above 3500rpm. Any adjustments to check or is new clutch the only option.

    try changing the 6 shims to thinner size. This might do the trick. but eventually the clutch needs changing.(This can be completed in half hour, without taking the clutch and pressure plate out)

    I'd say it has more to do with the plates not sliding completely on the spline shaft due to dirt and corrosion or just a worn clutch. I'd post these issues in the Boxer/TR section for a wider audience.
