Looking for help on a radar detector for my F-12?

msgm1, in our part of the world almost all the time you see X its a false alarm. Id say 85% of the time for K its a false alarm (so many car systems these days are so close it constantly falses detectors). 99% of the time when you see Ka- its for real. So the question is how many false alarms you want. And there will be the random occasion there will be a police officer using X band because he or she has older equipment. But if X is constantly falsing on you then do you really pay attention to it?

Although I loved the V1 in its time, I so much more appreciate the Escort 360 Max because of its GPS and database. It really works.

The best results I think are using your eyes and common sense and then the detector as backup.

(PS I think V1 is still a great choice, I just found another that I like better but please don't take my comments as dismissing the abilities of the V1)

 

I have some V1's in my cars. The Savvy box that is also sold by Valentine to pair up with the V1 is a great thing to get, because it cuts down on all the loud falses at slow speeds. User defined speed setting too. I still like the Escort 9500ix better, though. I have that one in my Maserati. Very quiet detector because it has GPS tracking that locks out the chronic falses.
