Hint 2) Fewer cylinders than a Ferrari. .

No but my hint is a valid one. Any Ferrari - including race cars.

Hint 3) front wheel drive.

 

A bit like Frua Elan, but not enough and certainly not FWD until M100 of late Eighties...

If it's Italian it should be Lancia or Autobianchi based.

Fairly certain the double Chevys would have given it away. ...SM wheel covers, very sweet little darling, has to be the slowest coupe in the world .............. Hynt 4 and Hynt 6 was a reference to CCs.
