No, we get the Abarth just not the 595 or the 695 Tributo Ferrari. I love mine. I just wish I had those seats.
All US Abarths are the 160 hp version, which I believe is equivalent to the Esseesse. We have only one model, available as either hatchback (with or without optional sunroof) or cabrio.
And that number isn't correct (at least in my case) When I hit 1,000 miles I took it to two different dynos (Mustang and a DynoJet) I put down 181 and 185 non corrected.
I just picked this up today. What a blast. I've been driving a 500 sport and was looking at a Miata but an Abarth cabriolet popped up at my local dealer. Tons of personality. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just got back from my Monday morning errands (aka beat the crap out of my Abarth). 44K miles later it still puts a smile on my face!
I have a friend who thought my man card should be revoked when he saw it. I suggested he drive it. Then he said 'but I can't drive a manual." Ha.
If the dealers in the area are solid, then you have no worries. But It's a cheap car, expect rattles fairly early on.
Fortunately the exhaust is loud enough to drown out the rattles. I have a 2012 sport and 2014 Abarth...the difference in build quality over the 2 years is impressive. The 2012 has 66K miles, a few rattles but burns no oil, still has a tight steering feel to it and for a hard plastic interior is pretty scratch resistant. Better panel gaps in the 2014. I agree with making sure your dealer (er studio) is "solid."
I dont have any rattles yet, but the passenger side body work is starting to fall off. It sounds worse than what it is- I think someone at the factory left one of the peels still on the "sticker" for the lower rear quarter panel. Also the cap for the seat fell off- luckily I saw it happen. Otherwise I would have lost it if it fell on the ground. But these are minor issues. Im still loving it!
My 2012 was about 45k miles and minimal rattles. That being said I was given a 2015 loaner for a few days and the difference was quite drastic. You do notice the improvement in many of the smaller plastic parts.
I test drove a 2016 at the Fiat dealership and it felt pretty solid. I'm just looking for another daily driver
Guess it depends where you are located, I'm in NY and downsized to 16" wheels with Pirelli's on all four corners. Snows have really come a long way from years ago, no more squirm on dry roads and pretty damn good handling. The real test will be this winter as I no longer have my Hummer, but in limited testing the past two yrs they make a huge difference.
