Damn, I wonder if its juat the battery or if your conection got lose at the cut off switch?

Id get them windows up but not sure if you can even mess with the car.

Personally Id find out what the buy back is and what they paln to give you if they total it, as I think they will total it.

For anyone offering you to buy it, Id start asking them what they want to offer for it as is.

I think any buy back they offer you will be over 30k so its a bit of a gamble, what are the potental buyers going to offer you for the car?

It sucks but go with your gut.

The passenger wheel looks repairable from the pictures you've posted.

The car in general can be repaired...but it won't be cost effective. Would be cheaper to take the payout, maybe buy the car back and remove the parts you want to keep for your next car, then sell the remainder to a wrecker.

If you want to rebuild it, maybe consider buying a car that's been hit in the rear for the front clip.

Personally, I'd move on to another one. The car will likely never be the same.

Glad you're okay though. Shame about the car, but it can be replaced.

Oh noooo! Eric, I am so sorry. 8pm in summer deer country is very risky. But I learned 11pm in college towns in early May is risky too :( The unibody is tweaked. Check your foot wells and center console. Bob Brown, shop manager at Boch Collision (FoNE) said my Rossina was hurt too bad. I was hit head on my a Buick Regal, damn distracted kid. Check your wheel, get it straightened. No parts left to replace and no survivors worth swapping with. But I always said if this ever happened, "You just bought me an upgrade!" Now I did have to pony up more cash and take a small loan but I made 14G off my counter ask with the at fault drivers insurance. Show award helped too. I skipped the 355s from my 348 and went to a late 360 Spider. Loving it! Challenge Stradale TCU is the bomb! New tires arriving this week or so for my war tested OZ Superleggera IIIs. Front left straightened, front right curbed and polished by me. New black steering wheel installed and original build in storage. Second set of yellow calipers in the plan for later. Rosso Corsa/Tan, Daytona seats, Challenge grills. New subs added. ;)

Once all that mess was removed, the top and bottom wishbone mounting points were still in the correct position, the wishbones had bent and the lower mounting point on the alloy upright had snapped clean off. It takes a hell of a whack to distort a 355 chassis back beyond the bulkhead.

Cost wise yours is not worth repairing back to 355 spec though, but that was never the intention for the chassis shown in these pics, your cars mounting points will be fine if its used as a project track car, to put it back on the road as a standard 355 will cost too much though

Good Lord Eric! It's bad out here too and the game commission staged a hunt. Protesters were there too but would probably skip the next one when a deer destroys their Prius.

I wrestled with repairing mine but I just don't have the time and energy, maintaining my DD 2000 Miata which needs work too. My 348 Spider was a tribute car to my late wife who was a petite redhead. It was another painful loss to loose my spider. And even with going the new upgrade route, it took 2 months of daily scanning and over-nighting documents. Wating for the other insurance to drag their feet. And then for FoLI to get my reg done! And after all my work, swapping wheels, building subs, washing detailing, mowing the lawn, my chest is still sore from bracing for the impact! My knees hit the dash, shoulder harness bruised my ribs and soft tissue, pecs, belly, side. It's almost 3 months and I am still messed up! I guess that's were some of my 14G profit came from. No personal injury suit. I love my new low miles 360 Spider but I still worry about overheating in traffic ;)

Quick bit of surgery with an angle grinder revealed all the chassis mounting points were still true, no deviation in the chassis beyond the inner wings

Awesome, but the Buick hit me. My drivers footwell was crumpled and center console was racked. Maybe his is still true? Or worth and F40 turn on the rack including welded in new frame parts? ;) Fast n Loud. :D

My condolences to one of the most beautiful 355s around.

Get another. You will spend tons of dough fixing this one and it will never be "tuned" at the same frequency ever again. Deep Front end damage on any car but in particular Ferraris is particularly hard to dial in again to perfection. It also looks as though you hit the sweetspot for structural damage that will resonate throughout the car, and that means a front clip won't erase the remnants of the effects of the damage .

    Glad your ok.

And the windshield damage is especially troubling (from structure deformation?).

Like another person said, "things happen for a reason". Now it's time for a new experience?

So sorry about your loss, and glad to hear that you're ok.

No offense Paul, but look at the position of the RF wheel in post #65, https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144810747-post65.html

It's obviously pushed back. Mounting points for wish bones are shifted. Compare to LF wheel shot in same post. Nothing fine here.

Sorry to hear, that is just terrible. I insure both the Ferrari and Porsche with AMI and have nothing but good things to say about them. When the Porsche was hit I was able to negotiate repairs where they paid up to 80% or so of agreed value to put it back on the road. Took some negotiation and a small amount out of pocket to pull off but very satisfied with AMI not totalling it.

If you have the option to fix it be considerate of diminished value as future buyers will see a clean title vehicle with accident history. Now, do they buy a clean accident car or spend less and buy a salvage accident car?

I've had the misfortune of hitting several deer in several different vehicles at much greater speed than 25 MPH. I would say that there is no way the damage would have been worse for the car...no way a deer is going to tweak your frame. The deer would/could have been much worse on you personally because of the low nature of the car and driver proximity to the windshield. Either way its never good, but glad people are ok and cars can be repaired and or others found.

Yep, if you had an 'agreed value' policy then there will be no haggling - you simply get what you agreed to (hence the name). Hopefully you had set the insurance value at a level that was appropriate.

My agreed value was based off the current hagerty valuation plus their added 6 speed cost.

Maybe I misunderstood what diminished value means. I thought that it was for when they decide to fix the car, but compensate you for how much the car has gone down in value because tainted history.

It looks to me like the corner of the hood hit the windshield, not a result of buckling. If it were a gtb it'd be a good track car candidate. Such a nice car and color, I want to think it's worth fixing. I know if it were to happen to mine I'd fix it if at all possible, but there's a lot of sentimental value tied up in mine...

The key thing is that you're alright. I wouldn't second guess anything, much better to have the car damaged than you, if you had instead hit the deer it could have come through the windshield and got you...

Just found this thread, sorry Eric for the car but glad you are ok.
I stopped in time, big ass deer but i already had my foot on the brake going down a hill and got stopped. Thinking after if I had hit it broadside ........ right thru the windshield.
That may have been much worse for you.

That's exactly what it means according to my understanding and experience through the misfortunes of some fellow car enthusiasts. I would think that a dimished value payout would simply trigger a readjustment of an agreed-value policy to reflect the new (and paid) diminished value going forward. I don't see why it would logically be precluded in the course of an agreed-value policy.

Sorry about the car Eric, but at least you OK. At least there are a fair number of F355's for sale at the moment if you decide not to fix it.
