    I took this picture back in early 1980 at the Riverside racetrack in CA. I know a friend of mine's father either owned it or raced it. Crevier was his last name. I haven't seen the car since. I know it was burgundy at the time.

    Joe and Diana Crevier.

    Could be earlier than 1980 as later Joe started IMSA racing a BMW M1.

    There was a time when there were several Comp Daytonas in So Cal. Ken Starbird has his the longest. David Carradine for his brother Bobby to drive. Nichols & McRoberts. Jumpin Jimmy Levitt.

    Can't remember off hand but Crevier's may be the same Carradine/Nichols & McRoberts car.

    Had one track event at Riverside when Ray Ramsey brought his down. Owned/part owned by Clint Eastwood with Smothers as a driver.

    Great info. Yes, Joe Crevier. Good Call! The back of the picture does say March 1980.

    Non original transaxle either and repaired original chassis. 14 year old White Book Classiche for a car of Historical Interest so no longer valid but at least they honestly give the date of it. Daytona Comps haven't done well at auction historically but the big difference with this one is that it is one of the 15 Factory originals with no question regarding it actually being a Daytona Competizione and as far as I know none of the 15 Factory originals have come to auction in many years.

    But as this is a sealed bid auction we won't know if it sells or not and the price if it does sell. Description does not state if the non original engine numbered B2312 came from one of the 15 Factory Daytona Competiziones either, only that it is of the original type, so probably came from a road car? Same for the transaxle numbered 392.

    Engine B2312 is out of 16467.
    Transaxle 392 is out of 14063.

    Thanks. Road cars then. Is it known when 16343 got the B2312 engine from 16467? 16467 = Original 365 GTS/4 Spyder. Became a film star, crashed, NART rebodied by Michelotti, again as a Spyder and latterly restored to as original 365 GTS/4 by Ferrari Classiche. What engine is in it now?

    14063 = 365 GTB/4.
