Possible to get a decent 360 for <= $60k?

Without pics of the accident it's no deal. If any frame damage, I wouldn't want to be in a second accident in the car. Not worth it for any price IMHO.

The red is badass! Some black carpets to break it up and you are golden with that black dashtop. To me a red car is too loud to be out in public with. You know I have a rep to protect. But when I swing open the door there is some Ferrari Red there to envelop me. Such a classic color combo in a potent modern Ferrari! You'll come around.

I would be a bit worried about this one due to it's a repossession. Typically, repo cars are not cared for AND have you seen those reality shows how cars are repossessed. Very concerning.

It's a bit burried in this long thread but yup, talking from own purchase experience. I got mine way less than $60k and it's clean title but I purchased two years ago and i observed that the price has been creeping up since then.

Look at posting# 10 of this thread. Though I admit it's not the famous red, I personally like pearl white so it fit my bill.

 

If there are so many cars in your price range why haven't you moved on any of them? Let's face it, it means one of three things: they aren't really priced that way, you aren't a buyer, or the cars are low priced but not in good shape.

 

I don't think the seller is the person who had the service done. If you look at the photos of the receipts, you can see they were emailed to an attorney (presumably the owner of the car who paid for the service).

Based on the grammar of the ebay listing description, I don't think an attorney is selling the car.

Looks to me like someone may have bought it recently and now getting rid of it, which could mean there is an intermittent issue with the car and he wants out.

Or everything could be fine and it could just be a good deal, but I'd feel more confident if the current owner knew more about his car.

 

Are gated cars really worth $20-$30k more? What are the main drawbacks of an F1 car other than being boring*.

Well I don't know about boring. F1 shifting is exhilarating. You have to experience one to be a believer.

The drawback of F1 is additional failure points compared to the 3 pedal. For example, F1 pump, actuator and other mechanism that automates the clutching can break. Gated don't have this failure points.

Also if you don't have the updated TCU, then it will wore out clutch faster compared to gated.

Lastly, a brake fuse or bulb can cause the whole car to not go on gear or in short dead on water. Gated will still let you shift in gear and drive the car.

However, the exhilarating feeling when it shifts (specially on high RPM or if you have the Stradale TCU) makes this F1 woes worth IMHO. It boils down to preference at this point.

 

Totally agree with this. Do it now or as soon as you can or else it will be out of sight (budget).

Not to sidetrack this thread, that episode is not fake. Search the rest of the episode in youtube from beginning. How did you know it's fake?

In any case, repos will never be a good option. 1. Some cars that are repossessed have it's electrical tampered with to start the vehicle without the key (I had one and it's a mess). There's a monstrous hack of wiring underneath the panels to make the car work and start due to the way it was repo'd. 2. If the electrical is not tampered with, then another issue is the car most likely negelected due to financial situation which is the situation for cars due for repo

I would recommend steering away from a Ferrari with a repossession history or the race driven like what Kevin shared through youtube.

 

Be careful, some cars that have "clean titles", clean Carfaxes, can still be accident cars.

I know it has been said, but make sure a thorough PPI is done, paint, frame,
etc. Some of these low price deals turn out to have accident damage, complete
respray, need clutches, brakes, etc.

You get what you pay for, and in the end those $40-50K cars often are only
worth that at best, and may cost more in the long run.

Here is my take on it. Look for a higher mileage, well taken care of, sorted, no accident,
limited paint work and low immediate needs car. To get into the $60K range and a clean car,
you will need to get one with higher mileage. This is actually not a bad thing, some say good.

This is exactly how I bought my car, the "extra" 20,000 miles cost me $20k less......

If you want a well sorted vehicle with no short term drama, you will have to pay extra. I have been searching as well for 360 last few days and found out that unless I pay around $80K with decent miles (20K - 30K) cars, others are very sketchy unless you know the owner with history of the car.

O/P is looking to purchase in a year when he closes on his house makes even harder IMHO where 360 price is on the rise. (Proven by so many factors) Of course dealers will try to get as much money as possible by listing them in higher price but others such as NADA, Hagerty proves that the depreciation has ended about 2 years ago on 360's.

Buying a car from Newark, NJ is like buying a car from Compton in CA. I know Newark has been improved dramatically but not an ideal place for shopping a car especially a Ferrari.

I think I mentioned about a 17 year old kid started his own Youtube channel "JR Garage" with all different cars and bought a F355. The car broke down in 10 minutes after delievery, found out that the clutch had 9% or less left or something like that and it wouldn't shift.

I love this car the way it looks... Seriously, Red Ferrari is just to die for in any occasions. However, we have "0" idea how the car is in reality.
- Major done when?
- Clutch?
- Accident (I am sure some of us can run VIN numbers but that doesn't guarantee 100%
- Dashboard shrinkage (I do not care as I can take care of it with worn out seats)
- Sticky parts.... I love the "arrow" sticker on the shifter Just very few to look at.

If the above meets the satisfaction as I am willing to do the interior work, I will buy it.
