The engine under reassembly, with 0,4 mm overbored slivers, new 67,2 mm CPS pistons, new Nimonic valves, new guides, new bushings, some new synchros, new diff and so on.

The total displacement will be 2015 cm3 versus the original 1990 cm3 displacement: maybe I will gain some extra hp, due to the bigger bore, the machined heads and the lower friction new pistons.

Let's see how it works (if it works...)

    ciao

Well, the + 25cm3 in displacement alone should bring you about One (1) more horse power...a single cavallino...
But you could have gone further than that...of course, the car wouldn't have been stock anymore.

yes, they overbored just to fix the slivers damage, not for increasing the displacement. Usually the overbore is 0,2 mm but this time they did a 0,4 mm overbore to be sure of the correct fixing: the slivers are very thick on the 208 and they haven't any problem at all to be bored a bit more than usual. CPS did the special 67.2 mm pistons (standar overbored are 67.0 mm).

The problem of the early not intercooled 208 turbo model is not the top power (it's even more than the Euro three liters "i" cars), but the lack of power under 3000 rpm. I hope that the bigger displacement (and the Tubi Style free flow muffler) will help the big KKK K26 turbocharger to start spooling earlier.

    ciao

thank you Steven, and thank you Markus.

This work is for my personal car, the one I will drive at Ferrari meeting, my youth's dream 208 GTB turbo red cream red with Modena plate. In 1982 I dreamed a lot to have a car like that and as I lived around Modena my car would have had the Modena black plate like that. This one is a 1983 car, but it's very close: a dream that comes true. And who cares if it will cost much more than the car current market value: dreams are priceless.

The car will be all new without forgetting anything.

    ciao

    It really doesn't look like a 129000km engine ;)

It shall be saved, restored and preserved just because of the special number engraved on it :)

Could you have subbed a 308 block, or are there too many differences ?

Also, do those pistons come all the way up to the deck, or are they recessed ? I'm wondering what the compression ratio is.
